Braddock rolled all year. The first half against WF was dead even in rush yards, pass yards, 1st downs. The difference was the 4 interceptions. To be down only 10 at the half was a miracle. The second half was controlled by Westfield. What was the emotional cost of the first half adversity?

LB lost twice all year to the two teams in the final. You want to fire the coach? You must be a parent of one of the kids or a kid yourself. Nobody who understands this game makes such a stupid statement! As far as the great roster, who did you have in mind? LB looked small compared to WF on both lines. Any Coach in the Northern region who didn't know that the 6'-7" kid was going to play wide reciever when it came down to win or go home deserves to be fired, and if they really were that stupid and didn't do anything to adjust once they saw what was coming at them they are only outdone by you in the stupid department...please take their position and squander all that talent yet again...tough guy!

Nice to see Westfield isn't the only school with crazy parents. Some of the football peoples need to calm down. LB has a top notch coach. One of the best.

Bad interference play on WF second interception. Go watch the video of the long pass first drive of the 2nd half As he stand there and watches LB's #8 about to drill the QB in what would have been nothing less than a sack if not a fumble. #24 comes late clearly pushes him in the back and he goes sailing by 17 as he throws to 10. if called thats a 65 yard swing. That drive sealed the game. Would they have totally changed the game. Who knows probably wouldn't but not what you would expect from a Playoff caliber crew

You've got to be kidding, LB got a good old fashion ass whipping. Officiating had nothing to do with it.

Guess what, if the officials were bad and missed calls then they missed them for BOTH teams. Difference in the game was WF pushed LB around on both sides of the ball for most of the game.

Other big difference was coaching, WF starts #10 at WR not QB where he had played all year long. Also WF's D coordinator came up with his typical game plan and confused the LB offense.

Almost like watching last years playoff game between these two teams.

LB is not that talented. Very few Division 1 players, if any, on the team.

42 years and ZERO football championships for Lake Braddock. Look at Andy Reid's record in PHI. Good coach but, he never won the big won and still hasn't. Same with Poythress...he's a good coach not a great one.

He's had his run. He had several chances to win a championship but, couldn't put it together. There's no reason with the players he's had that he shouldn't have multiple titles. It's time for a change.

Oh...and the refs don't matter in a game you lose by more than 7 points. If you lost by more than 7 points, you had greater fails to be concerned about then the refs.

No my son does not play high school football. He is 1 month old today and my daughter is 4. I played on the 14-0 2004 WF team and we had a great team, but most importantly had a great coaching staff. Landsdowne (who we beat in state final) had more athletes on the team than we did, but coaching made all the difference and the starters were out of the game before the 3rd quarter was over.

All I have to say is, did you see the game Saturday? Coach continued to play man coverage on a WR that killed him. He was the only WR in the game and the entire stadium knew where the ball was going, but the "all world" LB coach continued to play man with no help over the top. Very easy fix....make a team playing there 6th string RB beat you on the ground??

Cry me a river, brah...If Poythress feels he is underpaid then perhaps he should look to coach in Texas or D-3. If he is such a great coach why is he still coaching at a school like Lake Braddock? Why hasn't he advanced BEYOND a program that has NEVER won a state football title in 42 years? Because he's not very good. He's good enough to win a bunch of regular season games but, when it's time to win the big one...he shits the bed...repeatedly.

Half the kids are girls, 35% are Asian and yet...Lake Braddock still gets great, great football players. How do you get a Nebrich, a once in a lifetime player and not parlay that into a state title? Two words...poor coaching.

And as for Francis "Dead and Buried" Dall...same same, brah. Same same. Piled up a bunch of regular season wins and couldn't win the big game...at least not at Lake Braddock.

I agree with you completely except for the Francis Dull issue. Francis was the mastermind to WF's entire scheme, mainly offense, but Carol Craig was the D-coordinator under Francis at LB....Simmons was the LB coach under Craig at WF, before Verbanic retired.

WF's entire coaching lineage is attributed to the "Great Francis Dull." All this program does is WIN!!!!

The 2004 WF had 2-3 NFL players. Poythress may not have a ring but he does have 2 region titles. Westfield only has two regions in its great history. LB has zero NFL players. This is WF's 16th football season and they have 2 more chips than LB...? Specifically making your point invalid. Most likely have been to more regional championships than LB as well in such a short period of time.

You are also contradicting your argument about Haddock, who in my humble opinion is a great coach and an even better life motivator, the '13 & 14' season CVILLE had a minimum of 10 scholarship players...(so to say WF only won due to the Glennon boys, what do you say about CVILLE and their roster?) Haddock would NEVER leave a DB on an island to match the regions most explosive player after scoring on identical routes...GOOD COACHING!

Please don't forget the 2004 WF team had one of the best OLINE's in region history and a stellar defense. Please also note Landstowne was ranked #36 in the country, had 11 D1 scholarships and was led by QB Percy Harvin.

Bottom line I don't believe Poythress should lose his job, but I do believe he should never be talked about as being a GREAT coach due to his "big game" record. My opinion could be solely based off of last weeks game alone, because he was just that bad!

Bottom line is that Westfield's defense throttled LB offense - they scored 7 (seven) points. Didn't really matter how they covered #10.
