Yep, true. But they are managing the 10th largest school district in the US, the largest in Virginia. And their budget is 5x Arlington and almost 50x larger than Falls Church City.

AND As a percentage of the budget, the salaries of the School Board Members is the lowest in Fairfax County at 0.0144%. If only my index fund fees were that low...

By your logic, the more the school board spends, the more money they have earned for themselves.

That, my friend, is the sort of thinking that is destroying us.

They put in a lot more than an hour per month, and meet during regular business hours on some days (so they are potentially sacrificing other income). Unless you just want a board of SAHMs and retirees, you havexto pay something more than a pittance.

i see what they're doing. hiring tons of mexicans and un-necessary staff.

it's not just the pay its who they hire to do what and how many

it's now common to see a school parking lot full after the children are gone - and not for adult night classes

even if they were "level" with other counties if other counties were abusing "a borrowing privelage" it would still be wrong

it's the same with their "fcps gov building contracts"

they're using "mandatory gov schooling" as a ticket to fund making the government a parliament run by local democrats

they're running many businesses (ie, golf courses) under the name "government", starting the businesses using stolen money really

and of course: they are well know to "sell businesses" at a cut price after using gov money to purchase it

it's not just double dipping it's quadruple dipping

but they put double dipping in the back mirror and have enacted marshall law in fairfax: the gov is your life and controls everything (the money) in town - what gets built who sits in the offices what the offices are paid to do: everything

the dangers of "parliaments with all power" are well documented throughout history: they are abusive and are the core of facism

america (and it's law) is about private industry and persons making a free choice what to do with their paycheck

Now if only we could bus some of the non-taxpaying "students" to arlington we could solve the fairfax budget crisis.

Whatever % increase they gave themselves, they should give to the teachers....

At least! Frankly, they should give teachers an increase first! They do not serve us well by padding their own pockets at our teachers' expense.
