Where can I get rid of two old TVs. a 52 inch big screen projection and a 24 inch old tube TV?

Take them to Best Buy. They recycle pretty much any electronics. The county does as well, but Bets Buy is usually easier.

If the tvs still work, you can always give them away on Craigslist.

Find some day laborers and tell them that the TVs are free if they come get them.

Hmmm...I was going to post that Best Buy won't take anything over (I think) 27". But I spent a bit of time looking, and don't see that restriction. Probably makes sense to call first.

I took a 20" there a couple of years ago; I pulled up in front, opened the hatch, and a staffer ran out with a cart, said "Recycling, right?" and I was done in 30 seconds.

Generally I'm not a big fan of BB, but that was a stellar experience.

I had a projection tv years ago. The thing is a tank on wheels. Even a church won't take it. When I finally bought a smart tv, HH Gregg took it away as part of their service.

I had heard BB takes up to 30" CRTs for recycling, but that restriction may be lifted. Don't know about projection sets; as Greybeard noted, give them a call.

Put it out front a sign that says DO NOT TAKE and some nog will take it. Done and done.

Either take them yourself to a Habitat ReStore, or if they're just too big, call them and they might pick them up from your house.

Then take an agressive number off your taxes for this year.

Take them to the I-66 Transfer station and drop them off in the Metal area, where the appliances are dropped.
It would qualify for a free drop off -- under appliance as far as I know.

If they work, donate them (Goodwill or Salvation Army). You can get a tax write-off.

Put a For Sale - $200 sign on them, and they'll be stolen by nogs in 60 seconds.

1. Load into back up pickup with gate down.
2. Wait until dark - preferable after midnight.
3. Find quiet street with hill and hit the gas real hard going up it.

Problem solved

If they work, there's a Goodwill in Annandale. Just to be nice, you might want to throw in your Clear TV rabbit ears.

I tried to take an old 19" tv to Salvation Army in Annandale. It worked great but it was older, had that fake wood grain around the case but it looked fine.
The guys there told me they won't take it because of the fake wood grain. They said it was too old and they only take newer Tv's. I said it works great and one guy told me, hey even cheap people have standards.

I had a 36" tube tv that I tried to give to Salvation Army last year and they wouldn't take it...only wanted flat screens. I stopped at the 7-11 in Annandale and offered it for free to anyone who wanted it....about 12 came to look at it on my truck and all of them said they only wanted flat screens. Ended up taking it to the dump where fortunately the re-cycling area takes old electronics.
