Q-Ball Billiards

Anybody been to Q-Ball recently? Is it still there (I don't get around to Springfield much any more)?

I remember the first time I went there, back in '96, I walk in, and they were cleaning blood off of one of the tables. Went every Saturday night for a long time after that, sure there were thugs there, but the staff had absolutely NO problem serving me beer without carding me first ;-)

I kinda miss that place...

Oh yes it's still there. It's kind of slow now. Staff says it's like that in summertime.

They do card now, particularly weekends and Tuesdays when they have a bouncer, and there's less shady characters than a few years ago, I think. Still the occassional fight here and there.

I never had any problems there with the locals. Back then, it seemed like the Asian gangs only ever messed with you if they had business with you, if you just hung out, they'd leave you alone.

They have a bouncer on Fridays and Saturdays now for the weekend, and Tuesdays cause it's league night. It's probably changed a lot since you've been there. They added a seating area and a whole mess of TVs in the last couple years or so. Football season's good there.

I don't think there's a gang problem there anymore. Fights are mostly between drunk dudes somewhere around 12-2AM usually. But, if you're not a dick, you should be fine. Last one I saw was a guy that brought liquor in and they cut him off and told him to get out. The bouncer and another guy made sure he did. By the way they now have a facebook page.

Sounds like they've changed a lot. Back when I was going there It was the bar, and tons of pool tables and that was about it. Their jalapeno poppers were the BEST too. I'm going to head up there Saturday night and check it out. Hopefully they still have the poppers...
