Does anyone know who dumped off 2 monster sculptures at the I 66 Transfer Station on 1 Nov ? They are 6 ft high and made of old auto and motorcycle parts. I have photos.

They should still be there on Mondsy. Hopefully they won't be scrapped. Who made them?

I can't make it out there with a pickup, otherwise I'd take these. That Alien is fantastic.

Yes, someone please pick these up and don't let them go to scrap.

They're not there anymore, or they're crushed under the pile.

Those should have been Craigslisted, they would not have lasted long.

The transfer station guys should have permanently mounted them at the metal scrap drop location for no other reason that to be a landmark in the crazy place for people to know where to dump metal!

They would have looked nice outside one of the Vienna Mattress stores as well. May have helped the business with them out front!

Until 4yrs ago I lived in south Springfield near Silverbrook Rd. There's a CVS on Silverbrook and I'm nearly 100% positive these two metal "monsters" used to stand in a retail showroom next to that CVS. I can't recall for sure what type of establishment it was, but I think it was a flooring business. Every time I'd go to the Subway or the DQ over there, I'd gawk at these things through the storefront window.

I think the law of no dumpster diving at the transfer station is ridiculous.

I get that don't want people crawling on shit and getting cut up but those to statues getting crush is lunacy!

I bet somebody could of at least got $100 each for those. Maybe $2000 if they were sold at the Reston Art festival.

I use to drop off old A\C unit at the dump. You could easily snag something quick and be out the gate. I doubt they would stop you are do anything.

Legal or not - I snagged a Matco tool box from the metal scrap area 3 years ago, and sold it on CL for $350.00
