Thinkin about getting an iphone, and haven't heard many good things about the coverage from AT and T.
Are there any holes in the service area around here? I'm out in Chantilly, but work in reston. Thanks

The coverage is terrible. Use Verizon.

Just switched about a month ago. Not as good as Verizon, but not terrible. Better than Sprint.

I have no issues with iPhone (AT&T) coverage in this area when compared to my Verizon phone. However, outside this area, there are serious drop-zones and places my VZ phone works and iPhone does not. Your results may vary.

my iPhone has worked everywhere I go, so far. Make sure you turn off the 3G setting because there isn't any outside of DC yet.

I just got one myself. I switched over from VZ because of some terrible customer service issues. So far, no problems whatsoever with it. I love it. Literally...

I have the first gen iPhone (EDGE network). As far as cell service, sometimes I get dropped calls around Tysons, but it's not often. In fact, it seems to have really improved over the past year. As far as internet, I never have problems connecting. Maybe it's be slower in certain places, but it's never a problem. Every few months the internet connection will go down around Ballston for a few hours (happened this week actually). But, I am 100% pleased with the iPhone and would recommend it to anyone. I love the thing.

Coverage in Burke is fine for me; no real issues.

I've had no problems around here. I have the iPhone 3G but I'm thinking about getting the new iPhone 3GS when it comes out next week.

iPhones are gay, and you will be labeled as such if you get one. Go with Verizon and get a Samsung Omnia.

My cell phone is 5 years old, and I hardly ever turn it on. And yes, I tell high school students to get off my lawn every chance I get. ;)

For those who care, AT&T cellphone/iphone reception is almost non-existent inside the Oakton Giant and the Fairfax Wegman's. You need to step outside to get a signal.
