Little Italy Restaurant in Centreville

It is now under new ownership and the new owners have run it into the ground. For decades Little Italy was one of the few family-owned and operated restaurants in Centreville. The menu was authentic Italian and the food was prepared well. Their steak and cheese was probably the best in Centreville.

Well, that's all changed now. I have eaten there several times since the new owners took over, but never again. They have convinced me that they do not care about the quality of the food, the quality of the atmosphere, nor the quality of the service. It has gone from good to pathetic; mostly because the quality of the food and its preparation.

Goodbye Little Italy. Forever.

I predict a "For Lease" sign in the window very soon.

I guess I didn't actually live in "authentic" Italy for three years, 'cuz I NEVER saw "steak and cheese" on ANY menu in ANY restaurant I visited ANYWHERE between Sicily and Venice.

What people around here -- really most anywhere in the U.S. -- call "authentic" Italian food is the "red sauce" Italian cooking brought over by the immigrants in the late 40's. Italian food here has been stuck in that time warp ever since.

I went to Little Italy once and order a Big Mac. The waitress said they have Big Macs. I haven't been back since.

What type of authentic Italian restaurant does have Big Macs?
