Exprienced bow hunter
Posted by: Stephen H ()

Hey everyone I am a student at nova. I just moved back home (was attending radford University) and missed the cutoff date to sign up for the Fairfax County archery program. I am an experienced bow hunter and willing to split my harvest if desired. I am looking for permission to hunt property out as far as Leesburg. I am in Vienna Va and I am having trouble finding willing home owners. I took my first deer of the 2015-16 season in Radford on a quarter acre in a neighborhood 4 weeks ago. I wont shoot outside of 20 yards. I am a safe and respectful hunter. Thanks for the help!

You need to get a FFX county deer hunting permit in addition to the home owners approval.

I posted a photo of a 10 and an 8 pointer in my back yard a while back. They come to my house almost every night to eat the peanuts under my bird feeder. Start a feeding program in your back yard then zap their asses before they get hit by cars. That way you get the best of both worlds. BTW the 10 pointer is a huge animal and ripe for the harvest.

You just need a state hunting license with archery. I hunt the Fuck out of fairfax county. Knock on people's doors who have a little land. And if there are not any posted signs saying no trespassing it's only a $25 fine. I hunt clifton. And have friends who hunt all over great falls on 10 acres plots that are for sale haha and that picture you posted is a baby compared to what walks the woods around here

Have you ever hit a deer with your car? Ever paid for one of your kids cars that encountered a deer on the high way? There are just to many of them and they have nowhere to go. They get confused and cause untold property damage because of their #s. Since we live in such a populated area the deer are better served when their #s are kept in check. The meat gets used if for nothing else dog food and everyone is happy.

This 10 pointer is constantly in my back yard in Vienna and while he is a beautiful animal he is prime for harvesting. Doing so will feed people and help control the population. Bow hunter come to my house and zap this fucker before he runs out in front of somebody's kids car on 66 and causes all the problems that go with that. There is also an 8 pointer that has been running with him, probably hoping for sloppy seconds, that needs a does of 100 grain too. Then we can through them on the grill.

Clean your yard up and repair the shed. And pray your kids don't play in the road either.
If the buck is infringing on your lifestyle, you could man up and take personal responsibility.

To blame the deer.
The deer are in my back yard to eat the peanuts below my bird feeders , there to feed the squirrels. They also eat my hostas. They don't really bother me but it's just that when they are hit by cars they cause damage. Just so I understand you correctly are you saying the humans should move out and let the deer have the space back or do you have a better solution to managing the deer population that trumps mulls and harvest. Like I said at least with population management there is a benefit.

As far as manning up goes I currently feed our deer birds and other wildlife that comes into my yard including the fox, crows, skunk, hawk, owl and other critters that I have caught on my tree camera. For the record I don't hunt. I get all my meat from Costco. As for the shed she could stand a fresh coat of paint.

Think about this thread the next time someone you care about strikes a deer with their car and is almost killed and get back to us you stud.

Be careful and drive defensibly. When you are in a car, you're always putting others and yourself in harms way. Fact of life. But way less deaths by deer in than other types of accidents.
Sooner than later, if the human race is to survive then we'll have to adjust to living in harmony with nature.
I'm glad you don't hunt and enjoy nature.
