Where is the outrage?

WASHINGTON — A D.C. police officer struck a pedestrian in Northwest D.C. Monday afternoon, sending both people to the hospital and causing road closures in the neighborhood.

Police say a police officer driving a Metropolitan Police Department SUV hit a man who was walking near the intersection of Connecticut Avenue and L Street in Northwest D.C. at about 1:45 p.m.

D.C. Fire and EMS transported the police officer and the pedestrian to an area hospital. The pedestrian sustained critical injuries and the police officer has non-life-threatening injuries.

Officials are investigating what caused the crash.

Earlier, officials said the person struck was a bicyclist, and later updated to clarify that it was a pedestrian.

The crash investigation is causing road closures in the area. At one point, the investigation closed Connecticut Avenue between K and M streets as well as L Street between 17th and 18th streets.

Connecticut Avenue has reopened as of 5 p.m.; however, L Street between 17th and 18th streets is still closed.

Are you high?

The article clearly states it was a pedestrian. And if this one was like most DC pedestrians, the cop was most likely not at fault. Ive had people walk out in front of me against a light and put them hand up in a "halt" motion and pretty much leaving me with only two options. Slam on the brakes or mow them down.

Look at it this way - The cop hit the guy on the bike, and the rider of the bike is launched into the air. The bike rider becomes a pedestrian after he hits the ground.

This should end the confusion.

After we shoot them here, we claim to have had their permission, so murder becomes OK
