Glad I moved out of Fairfax county so my children could finish school in another county. While back in Fairfax now, I can see how things haven't gotten any better. All the money they dump into the school system while the whole process circles the drain. The taxpayers should be upset for having to pay so much, yet get so little in return when it comes to the school system.

LCPS scores are lower than FCPS anyway and anyhow you look at it.

The grass is green and the WalMart is cleaner.
But LCPS does not have the resources, faculty, and students to compete with FCPS.

Actually, Loudoun has much nicer facilities than FCPS. Their schools are more modern and updated, compared to FCPS schools.

Many teachers have left FCPS to go to Loudoun too. I know, because I am one of them. It is a much better and well-run school system. I enjoyed my time in FCPS, but got frustrated with their lack of efficiency, lag in teacher pay, and run-down facilities.

There is not a single high school in LCPS that has SAT scores above the FCPS average. South Lakes has higher scores than Stone Bridge now. Enjoy your teacher's lounge while it's still new, but LCPS is an under-performing, mediocre school district.

If you have mainstream student , he or she is getting the very basic package because the real money goes to ESOL and Spec. ED. But go ahead and believe if it makes you feel good that FCPS is serving your child well.

I bet you didn't even have lunch let alone with a LCPS principal.

Nope. Never happened. This post is a lie.

Of course, LCPS schools look nice, they're mostly all brand new. But the overall education in Fairfax is still way better than most of the rest of the country. Yes, there are schools that are better, probably even specific counties or cities that are better, but since I already own a home here and the schools still rank high, the rest is irrelevant. If I got a job in one of those "better" places, I'd still have to find a house and move etc, and there's still no guarantee that we would end up in one of the best schools within that county.

Rather than worrying about which system is better, why don't you work to improve the local system? Oh, right, it's easier to spew nastiness than try to improve anything.
