MVHS was bad, then Nardos King hired Menville "Flip" Flippen and it got worse.
Flipper's homespun "cowboy" ramblings, combined with an almost random mix of Rousseau and modern German manners confused, and annoyed, teachers. What little good he had to say, they'd heard it before.
This problem was compounded as Flippen's methodology was often at odds with the many other methodologies used in Fairax County Public Schools. No, there is no standardization.
The result: retrogression. What had been good was now poor and what was bad had become worse. Flippen rode into the sunset to deal with more prudent districts' questioning of his value and exorbitant fees.
