Fairfax County General :
Fairfax Underground
Welcome to Fairfax Underground, a project site designed to improve communication among residents of Fairfax County, VA. Feel free to post anything Northern Virginia residents would find interesting.
Sad to see her go, as I thought she had a chance to actually win this year. But apparently neither Fairfax nor State Democrats want to put any money into her campaign, and she was unable to come away from the debates with improved standing.
The event flop with Lt. Governor Ralph Northam was apparently the last straw.

That's funny. She actually came by my house that day. I wonder how long it was before she finally figured it out. Last I saw her she was futiley trying to explain who she was and what she was doing to the Vietnamese family next door who don't speak a word of English. lol

I'm voting against Cook even though we are republicans. He is the asshole that spearheaded those stupid yellow signs telling people to slow down. The idiots on the BOS spent $400,000 on that bullshit. Cook needs to go get a real job, he is a fuck up.

Unfortunately for Janet she hasn't withdrawn. Just sat through a candidates forum. One would think she could cogently present her case by now. Cook must be very happy.
I think that her silence says volumes because she has lots of spending ideas but says nothing on how to pay for them. Grab your wallet, checkbook, and any debit card from which she can extract cash because she is looking your way!

Her best line of the night, hope someone posts it on You Tube, went something like this:
We need a full-time supervisor and since I have not had a job since I ran for this office last time I am available full time to do it now.
I believe that Fairfax County exposed Oleszek long ago as a failed politician but continues to run for office in the local elections. Her lone achievement was one term as an at large school board member about a half generation ago and has run and been defeated in almost every conceivable local office since that school board term. She has no ideas and will not provide information when asked questions. On the other hand, over the years I have asked Cook for help and the longest that I have had to wait for assistance or an answer to a question was three hours. Judge for yourself.

Gee, Kathy Smith is using that ploy, too. Then, got mad when her opponent pointed out that she could afford to be a "full time supervisor" because she had a husband who supports her. That response was attacked as "sexist"....

I voted for Oleszek in the last election. This time I will be voting for Cook. Since he was elected Cook has done a credible job of addressing the concerns of my neighbors. Oleszek has come out with spending proposals but has not addressed where the funds are coming from.
Cook has done everything that could be asked of a local official. Could be named Supervisor Pothole for all that he has fixed while in office, provides help and assistance, promotes transparency and accountability in budget negotiations, done a lot of stuff to get residents involved in the community and is a reasonable back stop to some of the lunacy that can take place on the Board of Supervisors. As for electing Oleszek, I will not consider voting for the woman until I hear her sources of revenue for her proposals...
