Victor's Pizza in Springfield...and make sure you get the waitress with the huge wig and thick glasses. She is very friendly and always provides quick and efficient service. 30 years of going there and I don't know her name but, that's the go-to waitress...

I guess we're talking county by the replies?

Unfortunately, Arlington and Alexandria destroy Fairfax in pizza.
Pupatella (Arlington), Orso (Falls Church) Pizzeria Paradiso (Alexandria), Red Rocks (Alexandria), Rustico (Alex and Arl), Pete's New Haven (Arl)

That said, &pizza in Springfield Mall and Lost Dog in Dunn Loring, McLean, and Arl. are about it for somewhat decent.

Everything else is just passable.

2Amys is still the best in DC and metro area.

We've been over this topic about 10 times. I'll summarize:

Brick Oven - Emilios in Sterling. http://emiliosbrickovenpizza.com/

NY Style - Tie between Tony's in Chantilly by Walmart and Church's. There were some complaints about management taking the "tip" jar at Tony's. http://www.yelp.com/biz/church-street-pizzeria-vienna

Chicago Style - There has never been a clear winner in this category. Many suggest UNO's but it was rejected.

Personally I'm fine with $5 Little Caesars Pizza. Splurge then 1000% Emilios.

Pizza Pizza!!

I am ok with this! I have tried Ciro's in C'ville, Valentino's in Alexandria @236 and that funky landmark shopping center, Uno's, Tony's etc...and all were good in their own way-

- but I always end up with a Lil Caesar's pie in my fridge as leftovers it is better the 2nd day!! I just add a lil extra cheese on top (real parmesean) and throw it back in the oven for 7 minutes- perfect!

Get one fresh made for the best results don't take the one off the rack come on off times so they have to make it for you, not their 4-6pm rush hour ;)

This is a joke, right? I lived in Fenton, MO for two years and St. Louis style pizza is what Meade is to music. I'd rather pick up a Red Barron or Tombestone from any grocery store.

Greek Style: Primos at Belle View center off Ft Hunt Rd

NY: Mama Lucia at Fair City mall is good for a single slice or whole pie.

Whole Foods by Dicks in Fair Lakes area is good with lots of choices and so is Wegmans.

On the Cheap cant beat Costco's

Joes Pizza buffet in Vienna is good and the salad is cold and great with anchovies and the usual plus the home made minestrone soup and focaccia bread.
There's also one in Arlington. One at Bailys and Fairfax closed long ago and that Fairfax location the land lord has not made a dime , still no one in there.

I have had a Carb Special at Tony's in Fair Lakes that was good, slice of Ziti Pizza. They too have lots of different slices

And Good Old Mario's square cheese slices cooked up by Joe on Wilson Blvd. Good stuff me for 44 years (1971) and Joe and Lefty were working there back then and still are!

Pizzeria Orso in Falls Church is now Neapolitan certified if you're into pizza as close to real Naples-style pizza without being there.

It now joins 2Amys and Pupatella with the certification.

Plus Il Canale (DC), Menomale (DC), Oro Pomodoro (Rockville), Pizzeria da Marco (Bethesda), and Ciao Osteria (Centreville). There are of course other makers of excellent Neapolitan-style pizza in the area who don't care for the expense and snooty ritual of formal certification.

When I was a freshman in college, during the first week there were lots of dorm specials for the new students. One pizzeria offered "1980's pricing" with really cheap pizzas.

I tried one. It was delicious, and I ate all but two slices.

Then, I took the pizza to the common bathroom with a sharpie and took a poop in the box, making sure to get it all over the pizza.

I then wrote "free pizza!" on the box (which was white), and then called the elevator to the 15+ story dorm. I put the box in the elevator and never told a soul until I graduated.

LOL! Republicans don't pay taxes. And they only eat froufrou pizza. Illegals get up early every morning and work hard all day. They are much more valuable to society than Republicans. If some people are to be deported here, it is Republicans who need to go first.

Il Canale and Ciao Osteria also have certification so I guess you can't go them anymore.
Oro Pomodoro is closed a year ago.
Pizzeria da Marco is more expensive than Orso.

Coal Fire Pizza has a very dry and rubbery texture, Pizza Hut is in the same shopping center, may head there instead next time. I may go back to Coal Fire again to try out their pasta stuff, but adios to anything pizza related.

If there was any saving grace to my experience, it would be the excellent wait staff and manager on duty.

I was a Mama Luchia's guy for years. Kind of went down a bit when the Brothers left to start up a new one in Fairfax City. They failed there and I don't know what happened to them. Sister is doing OK but not the same.

Some people recommended Tony's in Fairlakes but I was never impressed. Been there three times. Reputation over product?

Started loving Kings Pizza lately. And they deliver and I am far like almost Burke. Other menu items are very good too.

I’ll have to try some others mentioned here repeatedly except no chains. They all suck.

I had a pizza at Coal Fire in Springfield (9276 Old Keene Mill Rd) and it was nasty. They have 3 different sauce options. The first one ("signature") was so bad I had to send it back and get another. The second pizza had the classic sauce at it had a strange taste to it also. Didn't eat it and went to the Lebanase place instead.

The problem was mainly the sauce. The crust and other ingredients were so-so.
