Vienna Community Center moving to Cedar Park

During construction of the wonderful new community center, the main activites will move to the Cedar Park Shopping Center.

Quote

The current community center will close on Sept. 4, and its offices will move to a space at the Cedar Park Shopping Center beginning Tuesday, Sept. 8, the day after Labor Day. Offices will be open from 8:30 a.m. until 4:30 p.m. on weekdays; the community center will be closed on weekends.

The Club Phoenix Teen Center will also operate out of the Cedar Park Shopping Center from 2:30-6:30 p.m. on Monday through Thursday and 2:30-10 p.m. on Fridays.

Don't go there after dark. Really. It's bad enough that Cedar Park surrounds Vienna's ghetto and is the day laborer headquarters.

There was some talk that Vienna Police was going to set up a satellite station in Cedar Lane Apartments like they do in Reston.

Terrible idea, ToV.

They should move the Town Hall to Cedar Park. One week would be enough.

Cedar/Park is a really nasty area it is gradually dragging down some of the local schools. I cannot imagine wanting to attend activities at a relocated community center there, even temporarily.

The worst thing that can happen is that some inebriated man urinates on you. This is not exactly Beirut. You are not in mortal danger.

I wonder how many million-dollar homes there are within a mile of Cedar ParK. Gotta be a dozen or so in McHenry Heights, and a dozen or so more at the east end of Kingsley. Not sure how many there are back along Amanda Court and all, but there has to be a bunch in there too.

Unless you're grass, then it can be deadly.
