Kmart in Chantilly Closing 40% Off Shit

So the Kmart in Chantilly a cross from Bungalows is closing. 40-30 percent off the remaining items. Some good deals but the items are slim to pick from.

All part of the Sears debacle. I think it was a write off for the horrible sales of the parent company and can't understand how it remained opened this long.
The parking lot was basically empty on most days.

A real shame as it was a nice upgraded store, but Wmarts just took away all their biz.
It was a very clean store inside....just located in an odd spot and very little customer traffic. Damn shame.

Remember when Kmart always smelled like fresh popcorn? They also used to have a little restaurant in the back and cheesy coin operated rides for kids out front. It was a fun place to go. They also used to have a automotive repair shop so you could get new tires and brakes while your kid was having fun on the coin operated rides and eating popcorn. I guess all that cool shit is fucking GONE!

Don't bother, everything has fresh price tags on them that marked up the pre discount pricing. Almost everything I price checked against amazon was more expensive even after discount than Amazon with only a few exceptions.

That store has sucked for over a decade. Hopefully it will be replaced with something that truly serves the needs of the community. Good riddance. That area is ripe for a Harris Teeter or Wegmans. Aldi is a fucking nightmare as was Shoppers Food.

There's a Wegmans going in just south, a bit west of 28 off of Westfields, so one sure won't be replacing K-Mart.

Note that there's already a Hairless Tweeter a few miles east, and one a few miles north. Of course those might not be convenient for you! HT is mostly overpriced anyway, I've found; their sale prices are often higher than Wegman's regular prices.

My personal choice for that spot would be a Trader Joe's, but I'm not sure the parking lot would support it. That whole plaza has kind of sucky parking, though I've never really been able to decide what's wrong it it--maybe just the navigation. Doesn't mean it couldn't be fixed, of course.

Remember also that Weis Markets used to be in there, too, though since they pulled out of the entire area (right?), that might not mean that location failed.

But I'm sure we all know what will go in there: a mattress store.

Convert it into a massive indoor shooting and archery range. It is big enough that you could do pistol and rifle at longer ranges than are offered at places like Blue Ridge Arsenal, yet still be indoors for year round enjoyment.
