Yesterday's tragedy in Roanoke

I am still confused how the shooter was able to drive from Roanoke Va all the way up to Fauquier County. Why did it take authorities that long to catch him?

That's easily a 200 mile trip. Meant to post here.

A gay black man? Should be pretty obvious, I would not want to be the cop that has to kill that guy.

He had a Ford Mustang, but swapped it out for a Chevy Sonic at ROA that he had rented days prior. Once the Franklin Co. sheriff put those details together the APB BOLO went out on the Sonic.

The state trooper's ALPR caught the Sonic's tag in Fauquier and then the chase was on.

I'm wondering where the guy was headed to. Someplace in the DC area? He could've gone in plenty of directions from down that way, but he picked here for some reason.

Probably Arlington. As the Bonnie and David Black case shows you can get away with murder in Arlington.

The died cameraman filmed his firing and police escort out of the TV station. It sounds like he had run-ins with Vester and was rubbing it in.
