The Menchie's at the PanAm shopping center has closed :(

Very sad. They opened in that location about two years ago, and the family and I were regular customers. Really made the shopping center complete. Seemed like a great fit by the three Asian restaurants, not to mention a short walk from the family restaurant and Glory Days.
Wish I knew the story. Maybe the demand wasn't there; who knows. Admittedly, today I'm annoyed at the families I saw go in, fill sampler cups, try them, and then walk out. People need to understand that if you want nice businesses in your neighborhood, you need to patron them and not be free riders.
Oh well, back to soft serve at McDonalds :/

Then there was that "Orange Monkey" place in Falls Church-the one with the person in the giant monkey suit waving to the cars. It didn't last long, and is just now being rebuilt as something else.
Face it, unless you are a vendor to FCPS, this is not a good place to do business.
Anyone with any brains becomes an "expert" on education and that's a ticket to millions as FCPS does not check credentials.

That is too bad. They had the best froyo in the area. Another victim of obamacare?

There's plenty of restaurants in that shopping center that are in the same Obamacare boat and are doing just fine. I really wish I had the inside story.

A couple months ago, the Safeway at Pan Am introduced what is called a "Cookie Card". Essentially, if you have a kid, they can get a free cookie from the bakery when you go shopping. Multiple kids is completely OK with them. So all of a sudden, a lot of the traffic to the shopping center gets free dessert. So the question is, how many families stopped going to Menchie's pre-shopping because treats awaited at Safeway?
