What the hell is wrong with people who think it is ok to defecate and urinate in public?

FALLS CHURCH, Va. (WJLA) — In late July, 7 On Your Side exposed that people have been defecating in the stairwells of a local footbridge and it wasn't being cleaned. Now, we learned there is a solution. But it’s not likely to happen, due to its expense.

The foot bridge that spans Route 50 in Falls Church has already cost taxpayers $5 million, largely because it was built to look nice. But the Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) said what makes it pretty is creating the problem. And to fix that problem would cost $100,000.

The stairwells of the bridge are littered with human feces and urine, creating a terrible smell.

Wasn't the county given several options and designs before they spent $5 million? It seems logical there would have been some thought given to the possible risks of having blind spots. Guess the board of supervisors doesn't consider such things when spending our money.

Who would begin to think people would use something like this as a public restroom? An occasional Phantom Crapper is one thing. This is gross.

Put in cameras. Post pictures of defecating people around neighborhood. Make them clean up the stairwells as community service hours.

This is nothing new. People are basically pigs. I took the Metro into D.C. to eat at Ben's Chili Bowl. Coming out of the station there was a strong rancid odor, and a grouping of soiled, fetid maxi pads, and tampons.

The Pro's throw the dirty pads on the ground while out hooking for Johns.

If they'd just close the Chipotle on the other side of the bridge, they'd cut the incidents in half.

If they're not going to clean it, they should tear it down. It has to be a violation of code. Is the County exempt from its own sanitation code? I doubt they'd let me have a trench latrine, why are they letting one stand in Seven Corners?

The only reason the bridge was built was because Hispanics jaywalking across Rt 50 from the barrio to the mall were being run over and killed. Of course you don't necessarily have to cross the bridge to use the "toilet."

In the Supervisor election held recently some dimwit young chippie was actually running on the platform to preserve those shitty third world apartments at Seven Corners instead of cleaning up the crap and running them all out. What it needs is to be modernized and have the infested buildings razed. They will find new shitholes to live in far away from here! They should raze Culmore while they are at it and drive MS13 back to hell.

Saul Centers did not build the bridge and is not responsible for it. If they have to hire security, they will charge more to the tenants in the center, and they will raise prices. So guess, what, YOU will end up paying for the security.
