singing up for college at nvcc

so Last week I applied to go to NOVA. Northern Virginia coumminity college. The problem is I accidently told them I went to Osborne high school in Manasass City and I attend Osborn park High School in Manasass. Will they drop my classes if they ask Osborne High for my grades since they don't have any details about me? or they don't care?

Your school counselor has probably already sent your final transcript.

I hope your application is written better than your question. Call the NVCC counseling office (or admissions office - wherever you sent your application).

Not a big problem, no classes will drop. You can always bring your transcript or diploma to an admissions and records office if you're concerned. If you're getting fin aid you really should. By the way, be sure classes are paid for or you're awarded aid by the 27th,

I am guessing your high school English and written composition classes went swimmingly, and you are currently leaning towards a future in advanced writing or mass communication?

can I suggest you apply to become a paid teaching aid for the intro and advanced keyboarding classes at NOVA? You seem to have a clear knack for typing and word stylizing.

First thing they care about is you paying for those classes.

A distant second is you qualifying for the lowest transferring (numbered 100 or higher) english and math classes.

If you take their placement exams and qualify for english 100/higher or math 100/higher, they don't care whether you graduated any high school.

Do yourself a favor and do as much CLEP as you can. Seriously.

https://www.nvcc.edu/prior-learning/cpl-manual.html

I had to take 8CR of biology. That's 3CR class plus 1CR lab for each of two semesters. Tuition for 8CR will set you back over $1,500. Add books, lab fees, and a whole lot of your time in class and doing homework to finish it. You will have 8CR that's good at NVCC and VA state colleges but will require subjective evaluation and transfer if you go anywhere else.

One CLEP test. I studied for two weeks, not two semesters. I used a few books' previous editions that cost $1 plus shipping (half.com) - Total cost was way under $200. Colleges look up CLEP and just give you the credits that match their classes.

I believe OP would fit right in as a reporter for the Washington Post and/or WTOP.

Memo to self; don't move the family inside the Osborn Park High School boundaries.

All you need is a pencil and $ in the bank, and you can go to Nova. You might need to take some catch up minimum requirements courses though.

+1 for CLEP. Studying now. There are practice exams online if you google....

My only question is does it count in terms of financial aid??

I was a student long ago (I'm in my late 20's now), and got put on academic probation since I dropped out (withdrew) due to a family emergency I had to leave the state. Well I'm back in state now (and have been the past 2 years)....

They (financial aid office) told me if I complete 12 credits I can have my financial aid back (namely Pell grants since I never used them)- 12 credits is 12 credits whether CLEP or in class, correct?

I filled out my FAFSA every year even though I did not attend any classes...thanks for any input on this! ;)
