What gives the United States the moral imperative to have thousands of our own nuclear weapons?
Posted by: John Schmitz ()

First I want to say that I'm not happy about any country having nuclear weapons including Iran, but what gives the United States the moral imperative to have thousands of our own nuclear weapons and say other countries cannot have them, and still today we are the only nation that has used nuclear weapons on another nation and we have threatened to use nuclear weapons on many occasions and if you think of Iran and the United States and count how many times each respective nation has sent troops to other parts of the world unless I'm wrong Iran has yet to send troops to the Americas and the United States has sent our troops well pretty much everywhere around the world so let's look at ourselves too and see why other nations might be frightened of us.

You are comparing the moral authority of the United States to whom?

I've also found it interesting that we tell other countries they can't do the same things we're doing. Whatever happened to "lead by example".

There is no moral imperative, we invented nukes, used them and have the strength to stop others from doing the same. When did a moral imperative count for anything in human history?

Not only that, we also have the moral imperative to allow Israel to threaten Iran with nuclear obliteration while demanding middle eastern non proliferation.

Forget our nukes, we fight wars for that shit stain Israels nukes.

There has never been a greater country than the United States.

I know that the Democrats just can't stand that statement.

Remember, Madeline Albright is best remembered for her statement, "the world is a dangerous place with the U.S. as the only superpower."

That is actually how the Democrats think.

The reason we are mighty, and weak countries like France are weak, is that we have God on our side (that's a joke, since France has that in some of their state emblems).

We are no longer mighty, we have become a nation of pussies and cowards driven to hide from media name-calling. We give up our history and our rights because we've allowed words like 'offended' and other bullshit double standards to become our reality.

'Oh say does that star-spangled banner yet wave, o'er the land of the free and the home of the brave?" Sadly... no

America does not aspire to take over the world by killing all people who do not bow to a government established god. America also has been willing and able to defend herself. That's why. Do I get the prize?

The short answer we have the moral imperative simply because we can and do have the ability to intimidate others to comply. It is a FACT that the world even today is "survival of the fittest" and rule by might and force of arms. If you are so severely deluded as to believe that the world or the US would be a safer place if we did not have military dominance you have a death wish.

It is in our best interest for long-term survival to maintain military dominance and this is partially accomplished by keeping nuclear proliferation from occurring. I fully understand that most in the Democrat Pary and the left in fact do not want America to have military dominance and would cede power to others... but I do not understand what they think would happen afterwards. I guess they hate America enough that they would applaud when we are militarily defeated.

WWII, the war against facists (kings, top down rulers, etc)

and...

The Battle of the Bulge: USA winning BIG OIL territory in WWII the germans were trying to take over.

The USA prevents development and it should. However whenever one hears Congress on the news sayign a country "shouldn't have nuclear facilities", one can be SURE that the facility was in the making 15-20 years and they knew it - and in a year or two the ribbon to open it will be cut.

--------------------------------

So shithead. Why do middle-easterns have the right to continually write articles about Jews and say Jews should have no land to call their own?

And why are they attacking asia minor currently?

Well, I get your point .. you're trying to be "fair".
The issue is, the person with the biggest guns, gets to order around everyone else .. problem is we don't have enough money (too much national debt) to be doing this for much longer ... "ordering other nations around that is"
We can keep the nukes, but need to back out of other nations .. we an't afford the wars.

We invented them so we obviously bear some responsibility for their proliferation and potential misuse, as a grown up big-boy nation.

+1 first in line, first to shine.

And why would anyone in their right mind want Iran to have nukes?

The reason is because most of the world (minus other superpowers that have nukes) comes to the US seeking help, defense, money, aid for tragedies, etc. We ARE the world's big brother and are generally responsible enough to have restraint. For this reason, the United States can and will have the most powerful arsenal in the world.

Now, this "most powerful arsenal" statement may not be true anymore. Obumbler has done everything he can to disarm the United States while Russia and China have been stockpiling weapons.

Posts like the OP's are useful because they show just how simplistically increasing numbers of people in this dumbing-down country think.

Maybe, in the interest of fairness, we should give everyone access to our weapons. They can submit a petition on change.org for a target. If they get enough signatures, we will launch a missile on their behalf. Problem solved.

Lol, you're so brainwashed. Let me guess you were in the military and watch Fox News every night. A family vacation is a trip down to OBX or Bush Gardens.

Doubt you would ever dare step foot in Russia or China. So much for all those trillions spent.
