Baja Fresh or Chipotle
Posted by: Bolano ()

I heard two people debating on a bus, which is better? Chipotle or Baja Fresh. I'm just curious what my fellow Fairfax residents think. I know when I go to both, they're always crowded.

The burrito bowls at Chipole are better, but Baja Fresh has decent fish tacos. Really depends what you are in the mood for IMO.

Depends.... Chipotle's Burrito "Bol" rocks; however, Baja Fresh has a better steak burrito, and their salsa is awesome.

Damn it. Now I want a margarita. Thanks, man.

C'mon 5:00.....

Yeah, it all depends on what you want. I like Chipotle alot cuz I'm addicted to their chicken burrito bowls. I'm not crazy about the burritos from Baja Fresh, but their grilled chicken salad (Baja Chicken Ensalada) is great! I used to work within a block of both places, and my Chipotle vs. BF visit ratio was probably more than 5:1, so I'd have to say Chipotle is better.

And BTW, there was a long thread about this a couple years back if you wanna search for it.

Baja Fresh gets my vote. I like all of their sauces. I like their chips. I like that they offer queso. I'm not a fan of Chipotle at all.

Chipotle, and there's one opening in Franklin Farm soon!

But Moe's is still the best. Get yourself a beef Homewrecker and a cup/bowl of queso dip. Your stomach and toilet will thank you for eating that over Baja Fresh which does nothing but give you the shits for some mcdonalds quality mexican food.

It depends what I'm in the mood for if it's Baja Fresh.

Chipotle on the other hand is good no matter what.

Actually you are incorrect sir. Baja Fresh and Chipotle are healthy. They are known to provide fresh ingredients, so less sodium and preservatives. The things that can really make their food unhealthy is if you include cheese and guacamole, which I do not. Google healthy chipotle and you'll find out.

And this is a dumb question, cuz theres an obvious answer. Baja Fresh is known to be the most authentic chain restauarant to anything Mexican in the area, however in past years, there has been a Chipotle craze that has swept the nation.I don't know one person that doesn't LOVE chipotle. Baja Fresh is okay. It's not bad.

I'm also really tired of people being "too cool" to think about your health. Forreal, people in the US are OBESE and it's just getting worse. I'm tired of seeing women with huge asses (in a bad way), and fat white guys stinking up the room in the summer.

If you ate a little healthier, you could get rid of those excess pounds. Unless you're one of those skinny fucks that's been skinny all their lives no matter what. In which case you lucked out.

You are correct. It's not unhealthy if you order the right stuff.

At Chipotle, get it in a bol, substitute fajita vegetables instead of beans, and skip the guac and dairy stuff. I usually order that with chicken and ask for extra lettuce. That is less than 500 calories, and less than 20% of your daily recommended value of fat. And it's very fresh and tasty lunch choice. The sodium is still pretty high (48%), but you're not going to kill yourself eating something like that once or twice a week.

Here's a nutrition calculator.

I prefer Baja Fresh betwteen the two, but you should try Moe's. There is a larger menu, better food, and best of all, free chips with what you order. And really good salsa.

I've had Moe's several times, it's okay but not at the same level as the other two for Mexican chain restaurants. I say Baja Fresh and Chipotle (toss up), then Moe's and California Tortilla (toss up) at the next level.

You really need to consider some other fine Mexican restaurants, especially Uncle Julio's Rio Grande, which offers the absolutely freshest chips and a superb salsa, although I was partial for many years to Carlos O'Kelley's, I've grown extremely fond of the freshly prepared, exquisite Mexican offerings at Uncle Julio's and I highly recommend.

Growing up in the southwest all my life I can say Moe's is more authentic mexican than either Chipotle or Baja Fresh. Chipotle is typical NoVA restaurant, make people feel like they are eating something ethnic but without having to see any actual minorities (as the price reflects)

Chipotle always reminds me of those giant turkey legs you get at the fair. The size of it always seems like a good deal. Until you get sick later.

MY vote is for Baja Fresh.

Seriously, who is getting sick from Chipotle? I've tried Baja several times, and with the same bowl shattering result each time. Not once from Chipotle. Well, I guess if you double up on the cheese, guac and sour cream, that may indeed grease the skids and get things moving a little faster. I'm guessing you're the person who also gets a diet coke with your triple cheeseburger too.

Chipotle hands down.

You don't have to "load it up" with queso and guac to make it taste good. It's just another option. Plus, Q's chicken is more tender and better seasoned as well as the salsas are fresher. However, Chipotle DOES have near perfect Guac, it's just not enough to overcome the other two.

And I don't get coke or diet choke, I sit down with a free water, one of Q's brownies, and I go nuts with the chalua sauce on my chicken queso with pento beans.

Maybe it's pinto beans? I don't really know. But they're good.
The Chalua sauce is hot sauce they have in-store.

Honestly, i love chipotle and it beats th hell out of baja.
in terms of chips and guac, chipotle has better guac, baja has better chips. i was surprised to find out the guac has so many calories. plain guacamole is just avocadoes and lime juice...
