FCPS funny website asking us what to cut LOL

I find it funny that FCPS is asking us on what should be cut but they will NEVER listen to us. My ways to cut FIRE ALLLLLL Arabic Teachers!! FIRE ALL Elementry FLES Teachers. student can learn in Middle School and High school. FIRE ALL ELEMENTARY SCHOOL PE TEACHERS AND REPLACE THEM WITH IAS! CUT MUSIC PROGRAMS AND CUT LACROSSE AND SOCCER AND SWIM TEAMS. NO ONE WATCHES THOSE SPORTS. THE ONLY REAL SPORT PEOPLE WATCH IS FOOTBALL, BASKETBALL, AND BASEBALL. CUT ON THE SPENDING TRIPS. FIRE ALL Instructional Coaches. FOR EVERY 800 STUDENTS HIRE ONE AP. EXAMPLE IF A ES HAS 600 STUDENTS IT DOESN'T NEED AN AP. AND THE PRINCIPAL CAN DO ALL THE WORK. IF ITS IS TOO MUCH FOR HIM WE WILL HIRE SOMEONE WHO CAN DO IT.

FCPS needs to break down the larger expenses and figure out what departments or groups have room to give.

I for one think that the FCPS can/should cut in their maintenace division. Seems these guys in the green trucks have no sense of urgancy in what they do and they spend most of their time driving around 400 squre miles of the County.

I would be some, if not a lot, of what this group does can be sub subcontracted out for a signifigant savings. This would eliminate salary, overtime, benefits, retirement, vehicles and quite a bit of long term savings.

Transporation is probably a large expense as well that probably has room for improbement. CNG or electic buses might be a big cost saver in the long run as well as save in maintance and down time.

FCPS needs to thing outside of the box on this issue of $100 million shortfall.

If our elected officials and career staff are so competent why do we need consultants?

More ultra conservative, no tax whiners with opinions who should be living somewhere that they can afford to live-- not Fairfax County. It's obvious that Kjwbv has no effing clue what it takes to maintain 200 plus schools and admin buildings. Hey, let's bring on a third rate school system and see what happens to your mom's property value, you might even have to get out of her basement and get a job.

get rid of the admn, can't even get a simple reply from, do not vote for a meal tax to pay these people more money

fcps staff are cluebaggers, they act like regular working people don't have to deal with idiots all day long, then have to navigate the fcps bs at night, they act put out if you ask them something that you could have read online if you knew the info was online

invite these entitled admn to a workplace in the real world, spew your company's lengthy process and treat them like imbeciles when they didn't read the website thoroughly enough, they make them work during the summer

Everyone return to your stupid base school. There arent that many kids who need so much deeper curriculum to manage. Your kid is the same as any other. Get over yourself and go to your base school. Big bucks saved on transportation.

who does fcps serve? why does the PR office get to dictate changes to make the system look better? why isn't the focus to teach students what they need? everyone is so concerned about reputation. teach the basics stop acting like a bunch of ceo wannabees

FCPS serves itself-meaning the political ambitions of School Board members such as Ryan McElveen and Superintendent Karen Garza, who is fat, dumb and happy with her $2,000/month housing allowance.

FCPS could care less about the kids. They are building empires, they already waste HALF of the taxes collected here.

The PR office is a joke. They don't respond to calls or email. They put out propaganda from Garza though and some people are foolish enough to believe it.

If you think Fairfax county schools are any better than 3rd rate, you gotta be libtarded.

The only thing FCPS is good at is wasting money. Paying Eric Jensen, a former English teacher, $9,000 a day to consult on poverty is just ridiculous given that he lives in a beach house in Hawaii.

Its called Union labor. Total waste of airspace. Over paid, many are flunky's, no urgancy, more reasons things cannot get repaired in a cost effective and timely manner.

There clearly are ways to improve response, quality and reduce cost in some areas.

Poop can FLES and one elementary school secretary. If an ES has two APs can one. I would look VERRRRRRRY hard at cutting instructional coaches and reading teachers. Most have minimal impact on learning and instruction.

If you want to see if instructional coaches and reading teachers should be kept, anonymously poll the rest of the faculty. The problem with these two positions is the jobs are defined by the people doing them. If you've got a go-getter who really wants to help kids, he or she is going to be very involved and doing lots of work. If you've got a lazy slug, he or she is going to slack off a lot and spend a whole lot of time in his or her office doing nothing.
