Just heard on XM Traffic Rt 95 south is a parking lot from 495 allllllllll the way to Fredericksburg. That's about 45 miles I believe.
Hope you're enjoying your trip SUCKERS. Should have left Monday like I did. Right now I'm on Jennettes Pier in Nags Head catching some fish and having some ice cold beers. Life is good! No shark attacks yet but we're hopeful. Will post pictures if we get one.

Heavy traffic on I-95 between the Beltway and Fredericksburg on the Friday before the July 4th weekend? Who could have guessed that?
Wait until tomorrow. The last time July 4th was on a Saturday the same 40 mile trip took 3 hours. The new toll lanes should reduce it to 2 hours 55 minutes.

Transurban is reporting that the lanes will be open northbound on July 4th until 7:00 to accomodate traffic heading into DC.
The 40 mile trip from the Beltway to Fredericksburg will take at least 3 hours and 15 minutes tomorrow at traffic peak (say 10:00 am to 4:00 pm or later). Plan accordingly.

Where did I go on vacation? 95! I got to play the license plate game. We sang 10,000 bottle of beers on the wall. We got to learn how to change a flat tire and how to add radiator fluid to the car. Dad taught us all some creative sign language (gestures) and even some new words. Oh, we also got to pee in the trees by the side of the road - good times!

We take 3 weeks off every summer and ride in our huge motor home to the gulf coast of Florida. Just hire a driver and party on the highway! We like to get wasted on frozen drinks and cook wings and ribs while we watch all the losers in their crappy vehicles looking pissed off at the traffic.

My friends are blowing up my phone since I"m the one with the RV- I know they want me to drive so they can party too but NOPE! They are all broke and can barely chip in for the drinks much less the GAS it's gonna take at 10mpg in stop and go traffic!!!
We tried this last year- it was a success in terms of "we had a good time", but it SUCKED I had to pay for ALL the gas BOTH WAYS to NC ($250), ALL the food (ribs, chicken, burgers, kosher dogs, sides for 8 people x 3 days = $300) and I got 4 24 packs of corona which were quickly drank up and they brought beer like "natural ice" and that was ALL they brought- plus the dump fee and extra water used for everyone to shower- priceless!!!
I'm setting up my grill right now and will have a peaceful 4th at HOME for practically FREE!!!
Fireworks will be on WETA anyways!!! Fuck going to the mall too!!!

Was up to FX today. Lousy weather river full of logs from rains so no boat. Made a 4th July BBQ for my mother. Left 730pm did not feel like hanging round to see the Works off the WW Bridge, Was surprised when I got to Fredericksburg, Sounded like Dodge City on my street people lighting off rockets, firecrackers. First time here early on the 4th about 9 pm. Usually up FX. Was there 41 years. Saw fire flies too tonight. Watched DC's Works on WETA.
So Far Isis has stayed home. No news is good news.
Traffic today was 65 mph from Springfield all the way down baby and all the way up in the AM. Won't be such luck on Sun. afternoon coming up.
