Three Cyclist from Police Games Critically Injured Today

Three competitors were critically injured in a cycling crash at the World Police and Fire Games, Prince William County police said.

About 12:30 p.m. on a downhill portion of the course, one of the riders in the lead lost control, causing a chain reaction crash in which two other riders were injured, News4's Mark Segraves reported.

The riders were transported to area hospitals. Later Thursday, they were identified as a 43-year-old man from Gettysburg, Pa.; a 48-year-old man from Brazil and a 44-year-old man from Canada.
A crash investigation unit is at the scene.

Okay, these injured are not from here, but what if one our local morons fucks him or herself up in these silly games. Are the taxpayers on the hook for expensive disability retirements?

Knowing these crazy motherfuckers, I imagine the answer is YES.

Remember poor Sarah Burke, the Canadian freestyle skier whose survivors were billed $550,000 for the nine days she spent in a Salt Lake City hospital before she died?

The Canadian Healthcare System pays reasonable costs for it's citizens requiring medical care while abroad. Unfortunately, there is nothing reasonable about the American healthcare clusterfuck.

To their credit, after a worldwide media shaming, the Salt Lake City hospital reduced the bill to "only" 200 grand.

Better get the hell outta here ASAP, Canadian bike racer!

It's unfortunate that the guy died, but the whole crash scene investigation unit thing was a bit comical.

These poorly organized games are not only a waste of time and money but also apparently a waste of a life.
