Looks like Sterling did a fireworks show tonight - On Sunday, June 28, 2015 (NEW date due to weather forecast), come celebrate the Sterling Golf Annual Fireworks Event! Starting with the annual golf tournament they will also feature live music, food and drinks, and finish with a fireworks extravaganza. While the event is free, donations and proceeds from the golf tournament will go to support The Wounded Warrior Project. Learn more.

? They did the fireworks show tonight. June 28th. The fireworks were originally scheduled for last night June 27th.

The fireworks last night had nothing to do with the 4th of July. It was a great show out in Loudoun County. You could hear those booms for miles away last night.

I don't know of any VA law saying you can ONLY light fireworks on July 4th...(correct me if I'm wrong and please cite the specific code in your response, too lazy to research it right now!)

Maybe someone wanted to celebrate a special occasion by setting some off- or just had extra and was bored one night?

I saw fireworks at Tysons a week ago Saturday. I never heard of a law about when they can be set off. Didn't Bush set off a bunch when he was first elected and scared the bejesus out of D.C.?

If you check around enough you can find a fireworks show every weekend some place in the DC area.

An example is the Herndon Festival had fireworks, the next weekend Celebrate Fairfax and National Harbor events, etc...

Even after the 4th the next weekend Alexandria is doing a show on the 11th.

Some tried but the police said they didn't care...nothing they can do about somebody lighting off fireworks legally

They go off all the time up Church Hill in Richmond, Hull St, Martin Luther King Ave DC. Any place close to anything named for the late Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, and I do say his full name and title for him in respect for him and not for the "Fireworks Creators" Bang Bang your dead. Respect your Brothers, Brother! And all of us too.
