Newington Woods

Any thoughts on the Newington Woods subdivision? Taking a job on Fort Belvoir and looking for decent public schools and a reasonable bike commute.

YES, need more people working at Fort Belvoir. Fucking Rolling Road is a god damn mess 3-5pm because of Fort Belvoir workers.

On a serious note, lived in Newington area for 5 years in late 90s. It's ok, but not sure about good schools. I would try across the parkway and get into West Springfield High School Pyramid. Or go down a little more south and get in the Silverbrook ES, South County pyramid.

Thanks. I plan to bike to Belvoir on the paths. Kids would go to Hunt Valley ES, Irving MS, and WSHS.

Grew up near Saratoga, but familiar with that area. It's cool. You'll be fine, previous post mentioned traffic fun.

Not a good area...old and beat up area...schools not the greatest..

Burke would be better...but you won't be bikin' from there.
