Ilryong Moon - Time for Him to Go!
Posted by: Ilryong Moon-Time to Go? ()

You have to wonder about Ilryong Moon. On level, he's a success story, a Korean immigrant who went to Harvard.

On another, you have to wonder about his judgement. As a member of the school board, he has made bad decision after bad decision.

There are also questions about how much he understands. His law firm's website exhibits English that is poor, even by FCPS' diminished standards. The way forward is clear, Moon needs to be removed from the school board.

He will always get the Korean voting bloc, and they don't care about his poor engrish.

Fine, let Moon be the honorary mayor of Annandale or something. He has no place on the school board.

TJ parents and Koreans will make sure Moon keeps getting elected as long as he wants.

Moon has been the guest speaker at our elementary school. Although technically he gave the talk in English, he was incomprehensible. No one could understand him, not even Koreans.

That website is a disgrace. Reads like a Chinese takeout menu. Rife with errors.

That is what diversity brings, everyone.

He went to Harvard as an undergraduate. He did NOT go to Harvard Law, but to William and Mary. Not a bad school, but not Harvard.

He's the least offensive of the school board, maybe because no one can understand him. McElveen and Velkoff REALLY need to go, so does Reed, this "school board tax" idea needs to die, and die now.

Love this. I didn't think the website was that bad, but you are really funny.

I cannot understand a word he says. The Koreans couldn't either? I watch the School Board meetings every now and then and he sounds like he is talking with a mouth full of marbles.

WHY can't we have competent leadership for the schools?

It looks as though taxes will double to support travel to Orlando and so on. But no real improvements for the kids. What a waste of money.

Could his school board position be a conflict of interest with some of the things his law firm handles? I'm thinking of the recent light shed on TJ by the girl who was with her mother here and going to TJ (the one who claimed she had acceptances to both Harvard and Stanford). Would the FCPS administration feel pressured to go "light" on accepting these students? There is a lawsuit against Harvard by Asians based on discrimination in the news right now as well. Just a thought.

I'm sure such a thing would be denied, but it could present "issues".

Funny business at FCPS? Would not surprise anyone. FCPS is not transparent.

If you ask questions about where money goes you get no response or are told that you need to talk to the Community Relations Department. They don't answer either.

Half of the County's tax money goes to the schools, but the schools won't talk about how they spend it.

So what's a little funny business with a lawyer and Korean kids? No big deal to them.

went to Harvard

-------------------
simply means is a democrat and probably affililated with the politicly rich

Harvard has LONG AGO stopped being a school of higher education (if it ever was - it was a school for the wealthy to begin with)

i know for a fact foreigners work all throughout Harvard

how do you even know if some foreigner isn't giving out Harvard degrees to other foreginers for a fee ?

how do you even know with how corrupt democrats are he even WAS AT the school 1x ?

----------------------
THere is a reason why Medical licenses, building engineer degrees, actuary degrees, are not accepted from foreign countries in the USA.

It's because those degrees could not be trusted: too much corruption, too much motive to cheat and absolutely no way to determine it.

If you had an american who said "Harvard", a boss could (usually did) check to see if that were true. An applicant who lie could be imprisoned for attempt of robbery also attempt to harm others with substandard services using a false license.

(if it ever was - it was a school for the wealthy to begin with)

in the past wealth and ownership and bosses and degrees were respected VERY FEW if any in a given town had any ivy leaguers aside maybe a doctor - some towns not even a doctor

you grew up being taught that asian teaching sky scraper technology at harvard is "normal"

i'm teaching you the reason why is harvard is run by democrats and foreigners are running engineer deptartments because of the USA tax money and so they can transmitt american technology back to their country - using USA tax money to do it!

--------------------------
ivy league eduation had been a big deal

today it is only a sign of corruption - not education

Maybe this ties in with the massive overrepresentation of Korean students at TJ. There appears to be a serious boot camp testing system that is totally skewing admissions for this school (ex. C2 Educate). I hadn't realized that some kids actually start prepping for the TJ admissions test from South Korea! It has basically made it impossible for any fairness in that whole process. The test needs to be reconfigured to stop this practice before NONE of our kids have a fair chance to go to the best school in the country. You do realize TJ is over 50% Korean students now don't you? I don't think Northern VA is 50% Korean...so something is waaaaaaaay off.

There's a Korean Parents Association at TJ. Think about that.

Off to start an Irish Parents Association at my kid's local elementary school.

Many years ago (at least 15) Mr. Moon was at a back to school night at Laurel Ridge ES (a messed up place) and he gave this speech about needing our support in the upcoming eRection. My wife and I laughed so much it hurt. It was fun to see how many in the room were too PC to get it but it was a long speech and he said it many times. I can't stop laughing when I am typing this. And don't say oh don't be immature, it was crazy funny........anyone with a brain would have found it hilarious!

And just think, your significantly increased taxes are going to be paying for these Korean kids. You won't be able to make your doubled tax payments but they will get into TJ. You will also be paying for transgender bathrooms and a half a million dollar a year contract for some transgender consultant that McElveen and Tammy Kaufax will probably find on Craigslist.

This is extremely frustrating. I feel like we are paying taxes just to support another Country's kids. Maybe the Yuppies will fix this by the time their kids are ready to go to TJ.

Patty Reed

Ted Velkoff

Ilryong Moon

Ryan McElveen

All support taxation authority for FCPS. All need to be voted out of office in November. Projections show that Fairfax County taxes would DOUBLE in order to cover the bloated school budget.

Believe me, Patty Reeds opponent will be worse. She will vote for taxation and spending. She will vote in lockstep with McElveen.
