Ryan McElveen - Campaign in Trouble
Posted by: McElveen - Political Problems? ()
Date: June 23, 2015 11:06AM

Ryan McElveen was a lucky man at one point. When Charisse Espy-Glassman's candidacy imploded, he got a chance to run.

His tenure on the school board has been characterized by poor judgement. He accepted a prom date from a student, even though he is married. He pushed through a costly initiative for the rights of transgender students, even though they make up less than 1% of the school population. Finally, he has made it clear that he has little interest in responding to residents, referring them to their local board member when they contact him.

Now that the Republicans have announced their own candidates for school board, McElveen is in trouble. McElveen will learn that the voters expect more than ridiculous postings on twitter.

Don't hold your breath. The Yankee transplants and foreign fucks with know he has a D behind his name and that he's an SJW and vote back in.

No, sadly you should just expect to see more of him. Wait until the BoS member from his district retires and see him take that slot. Who knows, he might be the new Section 8 Sharon one day?

If you truly want to stop him you know what you need to do.

Try again. McElveen is an AT LARGE member. He has no district. In fact, he often tells people who contact him to contact their district representative. He is too busy getting prom dates and hanging out at high schools to do real work.

Good point on the part about not having a district. Forgot he was at-large. That of course just puts him in an even stronger position.

Where have Republicans announced their endorsements for School Board?

They could not look less disorganized in Fairfax County than they've been this year.

"They could not look less disorganized in Fairfax County than they've been this year."

It was the Dems who nominated Glassman..........then they threw in McElveen. Hopefully, the GOP will do better.

Would you please answer the question? Where can we find information about the School Board candidates that the Republicans have now endorsed?

Put up or shut the fuck up about McElveen, Moon, Velkoff, etc.

That pulls up a bunch of local GOP websites with nothing about School Board candidates and some references to Arthur Purvis, whose chances of beating Sharon Bulova this fall for BOS Chair are roughly 0.000000000000000000000001%.

FCPS shows no sign of backing down on its budget. If the new budget is funded and no other County services are cut, taxes will almost double.

McElveen could face tough questions in the upcoming election.

The Republican candidates bring good experience, would love to hear Dr. Bob square off against McElveen. Moon, of course, barely speaks English, so he won't debate anyone. Velkoff is going to be put in the poor position of having to defend Eric Jensen's musical idiocy.

I for one would like to see Reed and Velkoff defend the need for the school board to have its own taxes as the schools just waste money like there's no tomorrow.

Easy answer: McElveen and Velkoff are lacking common sense. They do not understand the value of money. They do not understand the grand waste in FCPS.
