So the Police and News on Balls Hill Road

Anyone know what happened up there? It was about noon on balls hill road in Mclean. I know there were at least 10 cars, with other patrols stationed about every mile checking to see if their car is related to a crime? not really sure, just wondering if anyone knew what happened.

MCLEAN, Va. (WUSA) -- Fairfax County Police tell 9NEWS NOW that Cooper Middle School and Churchill Road Elementary School are under "secure the building mode" while police search for several alleged burglars.

Police say that at approximately 11 a.m., officers responded to a report of a burglary on the 7200 block of Churchill Road in McLean. As police arrived on the scene, a number of suspects fled into a wooded area.

Police say that, as a precaution, Churchill Road Elementary School at 7100 Churchill Road, and Cooper Middle School at 977 Balls Hill Road, in McLean, were placed on "secure the building" mode.

A spokesperson for Fairfax County School says that "secure building mode" means that students are not allowed outside but that the school is not on lock down.

I've never heard of secure the building mode. wtf is that? why not jsut lock it down, its easier

Basically. it's the same as lockdown. They were telling us bus drivers not to go into Cooper or Churchill until they gave the all clear.
