Just checked out the joint that replaced the old Arthur Treacher's in Fairfax and I have to say that it was pretty damn good. They have kind of a weird menu as they do tacos, wings, fish and chips, subs, tamales, etc., but their fish and chips and tacos were pretty tasty.

I drive by there once a week and was wondering whether it was worth stopping. I almost hate to admit that I really liked Arthur Treachers even though I would wager that they changed the fry oil once every six months.

Yeah I guess you could say that although this place is really nice/clean inside...looks much better inside than it does from the outside. The owner also works the cash register and he's a really friendly guy...I'm all for supporting the local small business owner. What's funny is that he's Asian...I wouldn't have expected that. An Asian making authentic "street tacos"??? LOL
Will have to check them out soon Tamales sound good tacos too, Saw em open but have not stopped in yet. Looks like there covering all the basic bases with some favorites.
AT's was a decent place, what can you do bad to frozen food fried up? I went there many times.
Don't worry about the owner being Asian, he wants to make money and have a successful business, he'll be OK. Tacos are nowhere as hard to make as BBQ. Now that takes some American USA experience . Unless it Kalbi or Bulgogi both delicious Korean BBQ but not our USA Pig Ribs or pulled pig, slaw, tater salad, beans, corn bread. They will learn the tricks in time.
