Understood there were more incidents of douchebaggery as some left Cars & Coffee Fair Lakes at the Kohls. That's really unfortunate, as 99% of people respected the event.

So after 6+ years, it's over.

Apparently the property mgmt. and condo assn. have put the wheels into motion to keep this longstanding meet from happening.

I'd blame those 1% of drivers showing off, especially those who felt the need to do burnouts and flybys. Thanks. You encouraged the videographers to continue, breeding more problems.

So much for Sunday fun.

Nobody loves a big block and a burnout more than me...with that being said, when you are a "GUEST" in someone's "HOME" you need to act appropriately. The parking lot is privately owned, the group got permission to use the lot on Sunday mornings for the gathering and display of significant and otherwise special automobiles...and NOT to act like d-bags.

You're on private property, there's other people and property in the vicinity...why would you think you can smoke up your tires and everyone would just be cool with that?

Clown moves, "bruhs"...

The Fair Lakes Cars and Coffee was a clown show to start with.

There are tons of Cars and Coffees in the DC area. Just go to one of those.

I don't think it was a clown show to begin with, it was actually pretty nice, and a great way to spend Sunday mornings exercising my cars. But about 2 years ago, the douchebags arrived.

The douchebags were those who showed up, stood on the hill by the exit, and encouraged burnouts and fast acceleration as cars left, and they videotaped. It was stupid.

The douchebags were the people who ran "flybys" up and down the main road. I mean, who can't go 80 in a 35 zone, given enough distance and time.

The douchebags were the guy with the black mustang (who then sold it for a Camaro), who revved the crap out of their cars, along with the Supra douche, who bounced revs off the limiter, echoing from the buildings. Further douchebagery were from people speeding to the top of the parking deck.

But as posted, there were warnings. There were signals, and there were signs this would come to an end.

The FCPD came by just about every week. Overall, we - those who had been coming to this meet for 6+ years, welcomed the FCPD presence. On those weekends, the behavior by known douchebags got better, or the douches stayed away.

This meet was NOT your typical car meet. There was no trash left behind, no weed being smoked in the parking lot or drinking. No old music booming. Most of the faithful attendees were in their late 30s, 40s, 50s, and 60s. Again, it was a way to exercise collectible or historic vehicles.

Regarding "other" cars and coffee events around the area, there is only one, which is on Saturday mornings in Great Falls. It starts at 6:30 and the parking lot is small and fills before the official start time. For a weekend, waking up at 5 AM to go for a ride is a rare occurrence. I go there - and am actually one of the first attendees there, but would rather sleep in and the Sunday C&C was a better option.

There is a C&C in Ashburn, and also one in Fredericksburg, but both those are 45 min away and much, much more informal.

Anyways, it was fun while it lasted.

Civics are FWD and don't have the torque to do a burnout. It's the mopar faggots who are always letting the rear end loose, acting like fags.

Apparently the douchebaggery came primarily from the Camaro/Mustang/Challenger/Charger crowd. This is the 2006+ domestics crowd.

The earlier (muscle) cars, and surprisingly, *most* of the imports, were not the offenders. Although the douche with the black supra on slicks earned their title, and same with *some* of the new GTR drivers. Of course this is a generalization, as not *ALL* mustang/camaro/challenger/charger drivers were showing off, but that's the generalization.

Why try to show off leaving? To be on a random youtube? Yay!

Anyways, wherever this meet lands, be certain we'll run out those who want to play those kindergarten games. We go to enjoy our cars and trucks, and the camaraderie of owning such vehicles.

Apparently it was a Camaro which was the biggest loser this Sunday, the one which caused this issue to come to a head.

Even the Monday night meet in Fairfax runs out those who bring the douchebaggery. And good for them!

You don't get it- Simply owning this car is cool, real cool. I measure my life many ways, and having the income to buy a 6 figure car is just one of the ways.

People that have other people in their lives to do something constructive and enjoyable are well rounded happy people.

I feel sorry for people like you living in a stinking basement apartment, and having no goals or any plans for success.

The people who attended and made the noise i.e.; revved their cars or tore away and down the VDOT roads, were not the "real" participants or founders of this car meet.

That behavior isn't wanted or accepted by the car guys (and gals) of the Cars & Coffee meets. So nobody gives a dawn who has the faster car there. really, it didn't matter.

Still unreal to hear the event is over. After 6 years, it was quite the run.

Under what authority could we, the real car guys "police" the event?

It is interesting to hear, if someone tries to go back to have this event, the police will be watching and I guess they will ticket for something.

But really, where were the police then, to catch the drivers who acted like douchebags, revving or speeding down the public roads? Kinda funny now, if the police would show up, reactionary to the issue. Or is it kinda sad?

Well then, the organizers and participants should have taken plates and cracked skulls. But from the video posted of some 5 plus minutes of people peeling out of the parking lot, it doesn't look like the organizers gave two shits on what was going on.

I didn't see anyone in that video waving people down to slow down. Everyone had their cameras on filming. If you aren't part of the solution, then you're part of the problem. Learning lesson folks. Speak up next time.

Yeah, going up to some kid and giving the throw down over their iPhone videos will only serve to get their parents in an uproar. No thanks. They were told, and didn't listen.

No silly goose. Read to learn, and learn to read. Why would you confront the kid filming? You confront the douchbags causing the ruckus. Take plates, and inform them that you know who they are and they are no longer welcomed there. Hopefully they get the hint, if not, social media is a wonderful tool.

Well, the Fair Lakes parking lot was indeed a ghost town this morning. No FCPD, like the rumor promised. Nobody running people out of the plaza. It was quiet, and empty.

The cars moved to Fairfax City, to the Fast Eddies/Lotte/Bowl America parking lot along US 50. Probably 25-30 cars showed up, and at least 3 of the Ffx City PD.

No issues, and certainly low key. Biggest change was a lack of the Camaro/Mustang/Charger/Challenger crowd. Them being absent, made it a very quiet morning.

Probably 4 or 5 Ferraris, a Lamborghini, some muscle cars, a dozen Corvettes, and some classics were in attendance.

1) You'll be kicked out of the Fast Eddie's parking lot within the year. The reason for this is that you have not sufficiently addressed the issues as a group that got you dismissed from Kohl's.

2) 1970 Dodge Charger Daytona here...I saw makes and models from all countries and all eras doing burnouts and acceleration runs. If you don't want Camaros, Mustangs, Chargers or Challengers there, fine...then don't invite us. But, don't blame the loss of the Kohl's parking lot on us. It was everyone's fault that the group can no longer meet there. God knows I laid my share of rubber on Fair Lakes Parkway...and I won't apologize for it.

3) Either way...zero fucks given for what you and the group think you're entitled to.

The cars in that video are accelerating but not laying rubber down and going slideways. Plus it's all happening on the public road not in the parking lot.

The assholes at Fair Lakes Kohls were burning out IN THE PARKING LOT not just on the public streets. Pretty sure it was what they were doing ON the property that got them kicked out.

What happens on public streets is between the drivers and police. No one but the driver is responsible for activity on the public street, not the onlookers, not the organizers, and not the Kohls property owner.

1. It was actually pretty lame on Sunday, lots of grumbling. Lots of finger pointing. BTW, there weren't any FCPD or prop. mgmt. on site at Kohl's. Not that I saw as I drove through their lot.

2. 1970 Dodge Charger Daytona? Pics, or BS. I'm thinking BS, or a clone.

I'm assuming this is usually the same group of car owners every weekend. With that said, what the fuck do you people do when you're there? I mean how many times can you tell the same lies to the same people. Do you stand around and do a circle jerk while comparing dyno sheets?

There are other cars there too. I usually talk to people who have had cars restored. But there is a couple of groups of younger people with tweeked up cars that seem to believe that paying for a bunch of shit done to your car makes it faster. They read to many magazines. I did meet a couple of guys a few years ago with Porches from the 50s. That was cool and I had a real interesting chat about how awful the cars were made. Sheetmetal on those car were paper thin. The cars were made 10 years after the war.

I did notice a group of Cameros who believed they owned certain spaces during cars & coffee. And the owners stood in a circle most of the time.

Katie's Cars & Coffee in Great Falls is better and has wide verity of cars from the last 80+ years.

Fairfax City Cars & Coffee will be the place again this Sunday.

The coffee shop there welcomes it and the Fairfax City PD knows about this and will keep an eye open for those who act like juveniles.

Close to 60 vehicles apparently ended up at this last Sunday, double what I saw before leaving.

If you have a cool car and want to check this out, feel free. It's right off US50 just before Fairfax Circle

Actually the police said it was a greasy looking guy in an SRT Jeep with a man bun that was one of the main issues. He sped by on 66 all the time at over 100 and would do a drive through of C&C. So if you see him at Katie's on Saturday, thank him for everyone!

It is so true there were too many Cameros, Mustangs and recent stuff. They made up well over half the vehicles there. Boring, so you can afford a new POS. Much rather see a classic that takes skill to drive and maintain! There was an officer (rather large er FAT) in an unmarked that drove around the lot each week. Sadly he became a joke since he didn't even walk around and talk with attendees like the other officers, didn't do FCPD a service there!

See how lomg your homo meet up last. All it takes is one fairfax city resident to complain and your teeny weeny meetup will have to find another home. The residents of the city support the PD to write summons out by the hundreds.

Wow all of you comment section tough guys. You stand on your soap box and act so offended. Why do you modify your car?? You either do it for looks or performance, sometimes both. No one was setting up 1/4 mile street races in front of Kohls. People sit on the hill to get a look at the cars as they leave. Those burnouts and hard revs that you punks act like is so offensive is what invigorates the crowd of onlookers. You all might as well be driving a Toyota Prius or Nissan Leaf. BTW, you dumbies fell for the ruse. We heard last week the police department wasn't even notified of any problem with us being there. It's cool though. In the mean time, unless any of you decide you can do more than talk crap on these forums...shut the hell up!

The cars are great. Its what is going on behind the scenes that is the problem. Nobody wants to walk into the restroom and see Kilton giving some other dude a blowjob.

We can do the track thing too. I've been racing for more than 20 years. All of what you snobs are complaining about are part of the car culture too. Come down off the soap box and lighten up.

I enjoy all aspects of the car culture. Exotics, classic muscle, imports, full show or track ready, it's all good. If you some how want a uptight elitist car meet...have it at your house or the stuck up country club you belong too. Otherwise, chill out! We're using a public place, you have no power to uninvite anyone.

I will admit the high speed driveby every week was getting old, but that is a bad ass Jeep. 700hp is cool no matter how you slice it. Sure thing, let's promote people getting into physical altercations all because you don't like our newly modified cars. FYI, there are plenty FCPD that do the same thing you're complaining about in their patrol cars and personal cars. Countless time I've seen police officers driving reckless for no reason. I love classic cars, but sometimes the car you think is a classic is just an old bondo POS!

Or you can have one asshole ruin YOUR car meet (like what happened) and cry a river on this forum. Your choice. Things don't change on their own. I have held many events but with bikes. And there are always a-holes that show up. But I politely told them to please cut it out for the sake of the entire group. Almost always they abide. there are maybe 2-3 idiots that don't but they know who they are and end up not coming back. It's easy, just try it.

I have a feeling that most won't say anything because you all are doing the same shenanigans as them.

There's no way you can only blame one group. I saw every make and model out there doing the same thing. You can choose to ignore the Evos, Subies, Bimmers and other imports. The fact remains, everyone was involved.
