Here is something for some old timers - Remember Chilla Villa Motel or The Wagon Wheel Motel?

I don't remember either of those, but I grew up right inside the Beltway.

How about Pleasant Acres on 29?

Amazing it still stands and no one has built anything worthwhile on that property.

Wow, nobody has brought up the motel that FilmDex took over.

What was the name of that motel?

The Chilla Villa was on Rt 50 just outside of the Fairfax City line on the right coming into the city. It was about where the intersection with the stop light is before you get to Jermantown Rd .

As it has been mention on FXU in the past it was the place the truckers let off the throttle coming into Fairfax and got on the "Jake Brake".

Looks like the Breeze Way Motel in Fairfax 40 years ago. Across the street from The United Virginia Bank and The Red Barn.

Indeed it is! Still alive and kicking, although I don't think there are any sightseeing tours and FXCO pays the bill for most temporary stays. Sad, but true.

Does anyone know what is going to be built on the former site of Pleasant Acres Motel?
