Who will bring home a championship first

Who will win a championship first - the Redskins with their inept front office and meddlesome fanboy owner or the Caps with their historical inability to do anything in the playoffs except for the one year they made it to the Stanley Cup Finals?

I know the sports and the season/playoffs are apples and oranges, but what the heck, speculate.

I'd have to say the Capitals. With the Caps, they're just a few pieces away from being a real contender and, apart from minor reshuffles, have had a pretty consistent core of players recently and look to build talent from the bottom up.

The Redskins on the other hand flail around trying new coaches, new systems, and new players ever couple of years. They go for the big high-profile signings that get everyone talking about them. Invariably the high-profile people come in, suck down a huge paycheck, and play mediocre football for a few years before retiring. As such, we never have the cap space to dedicate to getting some younger but motivated players to come in and prove themselves. Those that we do pick up with the few draft-picks we actually keep end up riding the bench for a few years then getting cut.

Obviously the answer is the caps. It's a 6 person team, not an 11 and 11 on each side in football, and of course we have Ovechkin who is the best hockey player in the league.

The skins are the worst team in the division, with like 1 pro bowler. The caps were the #2 seed this year.

What about the skins or the wizards?

Projected starting lineup next year:
Gilbert Arenas
Caron Butler
Antawn Jamison
Nick Young
Hasheem Thabeet

Sounds like a plan. However, Our main 3 guys are all getting old.

The Redskins. They've already done it three times.

Actually, if you consider the Nationals to be an extension of the Senators, they won a World Series back in Walter Johnson's day.

All three titles were won during Joe Gibbs I and since then they haven't come close enough to the Superbowl to even catch a whiff. Historically, the Skins have been average at best. Now, it's just a debacle. Dan Snyder has fucked that team up with his "all flash and splash" and fantasy football/big name mentality. Until he hires some good football minds to run personnel (Vinny Cerrato does not qualify) and gets the fuck out of the way, they're going nowhere.

I say the Caps win one first. I don't think the Wizards will one one for a long time. And the Nationals? Please.

I agree it would have to be the Caps. Give them another season or two, and they should be right in the mix.

As for the Nationals, they are an enigma. It seems with baseball that you have teams that occasionally show up in the World Series that have no business being there (Rays, Rockies, White Sox). It could happen.
