I can't argue with that, but having an inconsistent defense does not a sucky team make. If the offense can step up when the defense is having problems, you can still end up with a W. Problem was nobody stepped up in any fashion last night. Offense was weak, defense was weak, goalkeeping was weak. I didn't watch much past the first period, but from what I saw it looked like the Caps were almost panicked with the puck. It seemed that whenever a Cap got the puck, all he wanted to do was get rid of it as quickly as possible - usually right on to a Penguins player's stick. The Pens went for the throat and destroyed us.

Well, Green was +24 for the regular season (-5 for the playoffs though), so he's not as suspect as you think. The only player with a higher +/- was Semin with +25. In comparison, Ovetchkin was +8, Kozlov was -9, and even Schultz was +13 in the regular season. Make of that what you will, but we're certainly no New York Islanders. That's a team that sucks.
