Other than housing and vehicles, the gap between rich and poor in Fairfax County is not as wide as you might think.

The poor get assistance for food.
The poor get assistance for medical care.
The poor get utility payment assistance.

The poor all have flat screen televisions.
The poor all have smartphones.
The poor all have iPads & labtops

Other than newer vehicles and larger houses the poor have everything the rich have.

The gap is not as wide as it was before.

If a poor person wants a hotel room for the night and cannot pay for it, my general manager has a list of phone numbers of churches I can call who will send someone from their church over to the hotel to pay for it. UNFUCKINGBELIEVABLE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

"Poor" people are more fortunate in the fact that they don't have to work or pay for the things you do.

How fortunate that you have to get up and go to work everyday when they get to stay home and do nothing! How fortunate for you that you have to work for at least 40+ years or more for the same things they don't have to work for.

At least you're honest. Everyone would be on welfare if they could be. I know I would. Why not get free food stamps from the government or cheap rent? Oh, because of pride? Yeah well enjoy your pride and hating your life. I'm going to go get some welfare.

Food assistance is only $200/month max for a single person when a single pack of ground beef or chicken goes for close to $10 these days. It is not meant to pay all of a persons food bills only ASSIST.

The medical care covers the ER, but to get an appointment with a doctor, especially a specialist, can take weeks on the free insurance by the time referrals are gotten, etc, if you have blue cross you will be seen the next day usually as doctors are dropping out of the Medicaid/care program in droves due to the reimbursement rates. Plus rates for people with jobs are usually subsidized as well- it is only $70/month for my entire family at my job- almost free as it is.

To get said utility assistance, one must jump through hoops with the churches (asking "are you saved/ right with God" influencing the person asking for help) and it must be at the point where the lights will be cut off in literally 2-3 days if not helped- and that is IF the church feels they want to help you. I personally have been denied ONLY because I didn't want to "play along" with the religious talk.

A 32" flat screen can be had for as cheap as $120 at walmart. Maybe the person saved money, maybe they bought it at a pawn shop for $50, maybe it was a gift from family/boyfriend/girlfriend.

Smartphones come free with most celluar plans, or could be a gift from said family/BF/GF who is willing to pay the bill to keep in touch. So-called "obamaphones" can only make voice calls/texts. Even the prepaid phones (virgin mobile/cricket) have cheap smartphones starting at only $50 or even free, look at their websites yourself. Also, internet is a MUST in today's society. Smartphones have FREE wi-fi and there is free wifi everywhere these days, they may not even be active but able to be used to surf the web where they get a signal.

Ipads/laptops- same as TV can be had for cheap, or was a gift or carefully saved for.

People tend to think a poor person can't have ANY diversions in life- what should they do, hover around the old fire with a can of beans and sing camp songs while the rest of the world passes them technologically- then said poor person won't know how to use modern technology and makes it harder for them to get a job?? A vast majority of jobs these days use computers.

Designer clothes/shoes- flea market fakes. Or if real, a gift, bought off/gifted from a friend (me and my BFF are same size and I buy her old 7 jeans all the time for example), even kohls sells polo/other designer gear on the clearance rack....consignment shop....there are many ways.

My 2 cents, one should not automatically ASSUME.

Remember not so long ago if you wanted to buy these things you had to spend thousands of dollars.
They were rich boy toys.
Well not anymore.

In fact you can walk into any Fairfax County Family Services location and see people in there with smartphones in their hands. Not cheap smartphones either. They have Apple and Samsung.

in the 70's 80's tools were so expensive you would order service because only companies or proffessionals had the tools to (not make it worse)

there wasn't a quick way to find out any "tricks of the trade" and tradesmen rarely gave you hints - they demanded you order their service or get off the phone

sure ok library but the reference sections were THIN going that far back, and really still are (fx do library is more trash novels and books NY,NY couldn't sell for firewood)

(this is part of what makes what democrats did in the 90's highly criminal - they knew the rules AND EVADED THEM by having gov buy their tools pay their school and be their customer for the business they bought with paychecks. they knew every moment that fx co va allowed NONE OF THAT)

in the 70's 80's you couldn't afford to buy something new you fixed it (got a part) or had a repair person do the same

today, you can buy MADE in USA, do a repair after googling it, and still come out ahead

i dont miss tools being overpriced then , done like service being overprice today

but when you have a gov in charge of stating their own job tickets and pay levels just watch inflation run like a race horse on steroids

Thanks the too numerous special interest groups and ASSociations. (whom one is s the same as the other) Combined with the libtards being backed by the filthy rich, the 'Working Class' citizen is literally screwed. Here, with this post, the Working Class is the group that ends up having to do the actual, real work, of course.
Why bother getting screwed so thoroughly, when you can easily go on welfare?
And you need to note and mention how many of these ones with houses and fancy cars are living in debt. Sucking on credit to maintain a lifestyle far ad above what they can afford.
The last statistics was the fact that eight out of ten are living in debt. And this status is on the rise. Keeping a heavy lien on the home. The auto is not paid for with a high monthly payment plus maintenance expenses. A wallet/purse full of maxed-out credit cards.
With the stress of it all causing some sort of illness and simply running up even more debt to pay the effective medical bills.
With the rich and the banks winning the 'war' with, in real actuality, they own it all. Making the big money from it all. Hand over fist. For the rich, Richy rich!
Just sit back and enjoy the view! You should look at it all in humor. A bunch of ant insect behavior amongst humans. Feeding the very few 'queen ants'.
Take a satellite view of this shit! And, by comparison, what other animal/insect
can you closely compare what is going on her with the human race, with?
That's right! Army ants! Are you a human? Or an insect?
The filthy rich and our government(s?) are FARMING us!
Now, don't get 'out of line', or you will be exterminated!
