Why does the VA DMV website use Google Analytics?

Every page sends a hit to Google Analytics, even when going through the "document guide" for obtaining a driver's license. I have a Firefox plug-in that tells me which cookies and trackers are being used. The document guide tells you to input your name and birthdate. I wonder if Google Analytics is recording this data.

Because folks want to track their website traffic. Not saying it's good or that you (or I) should like it, but thta's how the web is nowadays. Sucks.

Use the Ghostery plug-in for Firefox. It blocks all trackers, including that one.

To see which content is being accessed the most, the least, and what's missing from user expectation.
