Regardless, immediately jumping to the conclusion that the high concentration of melanin in the perpetrator's skin was somehow a factor in the crime is undeniably racist, as is portraying black people as somehow subhuman, inferior, or uncultured as done by the images above.

Negro, derived from it's congnant in the Spanish language means "Black". The hub of the slave trade for the Americas was in the Carribean and Spanish was commonly used there. The spanish pronunciation of the word is different than English and when said quickly, even sounds like the word Nigger. So it is probable that the word Nigger was an easier pronunciation and a derivative of the Spanish word Negro, meaning black.
