Back by popular demand, the Fairfax County Police Department is hosting a second public forum on “sexting.” Fairfax teens, along with others across the nation, are increasingly involved in sending racy photos via cell phone and other electronic devices. Learn more about “sexting” and its potentially devastating consequences for teens and their families.

Hear powerful police department presentations by a school resource officer, a member of the online child sexual exploitation unit and a representative from the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children. Delegate Dave Albo, Virginia House of Delegates, Supervisor Pat Herrity, Fairfax County Board of Supervisors, and Ray Morrogh, Commonwealth’s Attorney for Fairfax County will also be available for questions regarding the issue here in Fairfax County.

OR .... parents can start being parents and be proactive instead of making excuses and expecting everyone else (but them) to be responsible for what their kids do.

When kids abuse their PRIVILEGE of owning a cell phone - take it away, break it, cancel the contract. If there are fees involved, make the kids work to pay them off.

If a parent/kid communication device is necessary, give the kid a beeper or a no-frills, pay as you go cell phone with incoming and outgoing calls only.

Dealing with Sexting is not all that complex - if you don't give the kids the tools to do it, it can't be done!!!!! duh

Agreed.

Or just tell the teenager they look to awkward or fat to be attractive to anyone, and please don't send his or her picture naked anywhere.

PS: If I go to this seminar, does that mean I get to be one of the people who watch out for "sexting" pictures? In the interest of justice, of course.

here's a novel idea... dont get a data plan so they cant send pictures.
