Speed Bumps Yates Ford Rd. Fairfax Station

I was driving down the ultra wealthy hood in Fairfax Station on Yates Ford Rd. Beautiful 2 lane rural road and there were 15 mph crude speed bumps! WTF! Why would you put poorly made bumps that force people to slow down to 10 mph below the speed limit? Maybe in a parking lot or near a school entrance you might put in speed rated bumps that were at the speed limit but wtf with forcing people to go half the posted limit in the middle of a rural road (no school, fire house, no even a duck crossing)???

As an aside, I was attending a fundraiser at a private house and the host had $80,000 stereo speakers and a $34,000 flat screen!

Back before the speed bumps were put in, it was a pretty well traveled road. People would take it to get from heading southbound on Ox to the actual Yates Ford to get into western Prince William, and some still do. But new, alternative routes and the speed bumps have decreased traffic significantly. The speed bumps are a product of old traffic patterns and such, may seem unnecessary.

I live off of Chapel Road (Yates Ford connects Clifton Road and Chapel Road) and based on the number of drivers flying through the stop sign at Chapel Road, speed bumps are a good idea. All of you Clifton haters will make snide comments but if there weren't speed bumps there, people would go 70 on that road.

As they do now on Wolf Run Shoals Rd., Chapel Rd., Henderson Rd., and Clifton Rd.

Speed bumps make respectful drivers.

They should be on every raod in western Fairfax.

I grudgingly can see the need for speed bumps in some areas but why put 15 mph speed bumps in the middle of a 25 mph rd? Why not put 25mph speed bumps in? Its assassin to make people slow down to half the limit in the middle of no where. No schools, no intersection, no nothing. Im guessing most of the residents hate them too...

Very influential. You must be an expert in the area.
