What is your views on "you tube teaching method"? The teacher won't do the lesson but youtube does it. My son's teacher did this and son passed the sol. so does it work?

Did Brett Trapp pop in to the lesson and hit you up for a pledge?

there's such a thing as tutoring

however when too many kids need "tutoring" they fire who is writing the tests - for rigging the tests

Your son passed the SOL because it is not a difficult test and it does not take much more than getting half of them right to pass.
You are talking about a teaching method where students are to watch lectures at home and then do the practical work at school. It assumes that students want to learn and will actually watch the video and take notes. I see this as a huge mistake because that premise is way off the mark. The majority of students are not very motivated, whine for better grades, never study for a test because they can retake it and at some schools get half credit on assignments when they have not even done them!
The schools need to be taken back from those who have no idea what goes on in the classroom and given back to the teacher so they can teach, test and grade. The outcome will be that students will become responsible for their learning and their grades will truly reflect what they know.
