FYI - Fox Mill used to be Oakton HS which you would think was a good thing. I hate to tell you this but in the 90's, Oakton was known as Smoketon. EVERYONE smoked weed and drank. Why do I know this? Because I went there. AND I went to South Lakes and grew up in REston! Oakton was also the first time I saw cocaine and heroine and those users were the ones with the $$$ and from affluent families.NEVER heard those things at South Lakes.
What did we do for fun on the weekends? We sat in parking lots, drank and smoked. Honor roll kids, band kids, GT kids (I was one - never got below a B average), white black asian. Oh and if that wasn't enough, these good kids would go around starting fights.
Stop judging. Start parenting. South Lakes is a great school. Oakton is a great school. But if you don't know what your kids are doing or if you opress them so much that they hide things from you, good luck. In college it gets even worse.

I agree with everything you wrote except the South Lakes part. South Lakes sucks. Full of gangs and drugs, much more than any school in western Fairfax.
