As I was sitting in my girlfriends car in the parking deck, out of nowhere this mason cop comes behind us stating that they got a call about an occupied vehicle in the parking deck. ??? wtf "an occupied vehicle"..then I get to see his geeky looking partner ask me to get out of the car and try to interrogate me and see if me and my gf were fooling around in the car..also he was trying to search my backpack but I finessed my way out of that..fuck the mason police they are pieces of shit

A couple years back I got arrested by a Mason officer on his way to work. Was at a party in Burke and the cop lived a few town houses down, guy proceeded to break up the party and drive through the neighborhood with his spotlight scanning the area. As I was walking to my car, parked outside of the neighborhood, he shouted over the loudspeaker to stop walking. I complied but asked if he had jurisdiction, being outside of the GM area (and in a GMU police vehicle). He detained me (claiming suspicious activity in the area, since the party had just been busted up) and I had some bud on me, while I was detained he radioed a FCPD officer to come take me to Judicial Drive. Dude was definitely a nerd and was treated like a dumbass/rookie once the FCPD officers arrived.

OP's concern is legitimate.

I went to college in the 80s in Williamsburg. I could have been in a car, in the parking lot, with a girl, talking or whatever, for hours, and no cop would come up to me on some "complaint" bullshit.

George Mason cops are Fairfax Police Department rejects: people who wanted to be a real cop, and failed the process.

So they go to GMU police department. But here's the kicker: these assholes don't want to be there, they want to be Fairfax County Police, or Virginia State Police, or whatever. So they start arresting every dumbass they can to build a resume.

As a lawyer, I love kicking ass on these dumbass GMU cops, usually winning.

But, if I were a student of GMU, or a parent of a student of GMU, I would be outraged that the local police look at the GMU student body as prey for their resume.
