Cingular cell phone coverage thread

Are there any Cingular subscribers out there that have noticed coverage problems in the Tysons Corner area over the past 6 months?

I never had problems with ATT&T Wireless but got switched when the two companies merged. But since then, the number of "dropped calls" has risen steadily, and remarkably so over the past 4-5 months. Last week I had an hour long call get dropped 5 times, that's FIVE, times during the conversation.

I'm beginning to wonder if it's just my phone. Or, has anyone else noticed the problem?

I don't know about Cingular at Tysons....but Verizon has a black hole in the Main & Maple area of Fairfax City. I get dropped EVERY time! If it's an important call....I gotta pull over before I get near there.

I wonder if that big antenna at the VFW on Oak St is screwing up cell signals?

I have Cingular\T-Mobile and seems to work ok, but still get dropped in some areas of the County.

Does anyone read the newspapers anymore? There was just a major story last week about how Cingular is being sued by a group hoping for a class action because AT&T customers who were forced to switch are getting service that is below sub-standard.

yeah, i was on AT&T for a long time after the buyout and after eventually switching, i got perfect reception in my place where before it was really spotty. perhaps i can get in on that suit.
