Capitals Playoffs not on TV

I have the basic Cox cable bundle, with the 100 channels and do not get vs. I had to miss game 3 and was wondering if anyone else was having this issue. Is it only Cox that does not carry VS in the basic cable bundle.

I always watched on Comcast Sportsnet and think it is bull they're not carrying the games. They do with the Wizards when they're on national tv still in the playoffs.

What do you mean you missed game 3? Game 3 doesn't start for 2.5 hours.

If you want Versus that bad then just get the Sports Tier for the month and then cancel it. It'll cost a few bucks. Otherwise just go to a sports bar and watch it.

CSN doesn't control what games they show, the NHL controls it. Quit your bitching.

It is too bad a network couldn't come up with a deal to show them... I can' see the vs ones either, how dumb.

You can always listen to the game on WJFK, you cheap bastard.

Excuse while I get ready to watch it on my LCD HDTV.

FYI - Comcast owns Versus. They aren't going to gouge Versus during the play-offs so that you can watch it on CSN. Instead, you will get to watch DC United play the Kansas City Wizards while the rest of us enjoy the game.

Well I'm not the only person in this boat. Very stupid situation. It's like when the Nationals came and none of there games were on tv.

Call me a bandwagon-er if you want, I'm not even going to bother taking on that argument. The fact of the matter is 95% of the fans watching the game in the area tonight are bandwagon-ers. That comes with winning. Nothing wrong with cheering on your home team even if you're not a die-hard hockey fan.

If it's your home team it's not necessarily bandwagon-hopping. An example of a bandwagon person would be someone who claims to be a big Cleveland Cavalier fan right now, here in Washington.

The problem is the NHL has a very small appeal, so ESPN and the big networks aren't going to play most of the play-off games until the Stanley Cup series. As a result, you are basically at the mercy of Comcast. They want to drive traffic to Versus because Versus gets a national ad rate; CSN doesn't.

Alex8, you don't have to live outside of the DC area to be considered a "bandwagon" Capitals fan. Anyone that didn't follow the team before, and now all the sudden is a huge fan, is definitely a bandwagoner in my book. I think most, if not all, long time Caps fan would agree with me.

Yes.

But that's okay. I think the more fans the game has, the better.

I blame the Penguins score on that Asian Caps fan in the audience that the camera spent so much time on.

LOL...I saw him earlier...they keep coming back to him; I guess they are trying to show hockey as a multicultural/cross-cultural sport!

The Caps goalie had to face 40-something shots. His performance was remarkable but it is absurd that the Caps defense was so porous in the first place to allow 40+ shots! Maybe the Caps need to place less emphasis on having defenders who can score and more emphasis on defenders who can defend.

Frankly, I'm shocked the Caps scored on offense. They were outplayed by the Penguins across the board last night.

When you take six penalties in a row, you will face a lot of shots. Some were accurate calls, some were BS, but it sure tilted the ice in the Pens favor. All that PK time wears down the checking lines, and the Caps were dog tired.

I think it says more that, despite the Caps being outplayed, outhit and outshot, it still took the Pens 11 minutes of overtime and a lucky deflection to win it.
