Are Bicentennial 2 dollar bills worth more than $2?

And dont say shit like Google is your friend or some such crap. I have googled and I got answers ranging from $1.50 to $20,000.

Apparently my deceased grandfather collected these things like most men collect porn. Must have over 200 1976 $2 bills. All crisp as fresh lettuce and uncirculated.

Honestly, no - they're not unless it's a misprint or has a very unique serial number like 1111111111111 or 2222222222222.

I have a little over 500 $2 bills, I collected them as a kid and I still get a few here and there to continue adding to the collection. They're worth.. $2/each, maybe a few extra cents more to a collector.

If you have 200 of them, it's a face value of $400. If you can sell them for more than $450, you're lucky. Personally, I'll give you $425 for the stash.

If you're interested, provide your email and I'll reach out.

Personally, I spend $2 bills (including bicentennials) for the fun of it. They're great as tips or as a cash gift for kids. Illegals and millennials seem to struggle a bit if you try to pay for something with them. Some places flat out won't take them, thinking they're counterfeit or a joke. Most banks and credit unions keep a bundle or two on hand...just ask. In my eyes, they're worth $2, no more no less. They're not rare in the least bit, you just don't see them that often.

With that being said, uncirculated notes might be worth holding on to and passing down in your family for the sentimental and novelty value. And if it has Monticello on the back, instead of the signing of the Declaration, definitely hang on to it.

Where do you get them? As is in, specifically which bank and where? Every time I've asked at my bank branch they look at me like I just asked them to donate a kidney.

Uhhh, the whole point of serial numbers is that they're ALL unique. The word you're looking for is ''interesting'' because there's no such thing as ''very unique.''

I love handing them out. A little surprise. More than once, I've been asked, "Are these for real?"

Federal credit unions around the Mall. The Bureau of Engraving & Printing is there on 14th St, so it seems to be a touristy thing to do.

Also, at Wells Fargo in Ballston across from IHOP, and the Wells Fargo at 4651 King St in South Arlington. You may have to ask once, but they'll remember to set aside some for you.

I've never had the need to ask anywhere else.

Thanks. Much appreciated for the straight answer, especially on this site.

Same goes for proof sets from the government in the early to mid eighties.
Face value at best.

You can ask your bank to order them for you. Depending on when you ask, you could have them within the same week. Any bank can order them, it's just you usually have to be an account holder of that bank for them to do it for you.

I gave out christmas cards with $10 in $2's last year.
