Wohoo! Lake Anne Plaza in Reston to Get Brewery!

The space was formerly occupied by Singh Thai restaurant, which recently moved across the plaza to 1633 Washington Plaza, the former Jasmine Cafe space. Romano said renovations will begin right away, but the brewery will not open until at least late summer.

A nanobrewery – a growing segment of the craft beer market — is a small microbrewery operation, typically producing fewer than three barrels at a time. A barrel is typically 31 gallons or two kegs.

The beer will be made on site in the former kitchen space. There will be bar and inside seating, as well as seating on the deck overlooking Lake Anne.
Under Virginia law, breweries can sell pints of beer on site without the need for food service. Food service is required at bars. There won’t be a kitchen at Lake Anne Brew House, but Romano said they will sell simple snacks (similar to food operations at a winery) to go with the beer.

There are several microbreweries in Loudoun County, but this is believed to be the first one in Fairfax County. Romano said they had to work with the county to get non-manufacturing status.

LOL. You idiots and your micro/nano/douche breweries are hilarious. I love how pretending to be a beer connoisseur is all the rage nowadays. You doofuses couldn't tell one of these crap beers from another during a blind taste test if your lives depended on it.

Who cares if people are wannabe beer snobs. I don't live in Reston...but regardless, breweries opening are progress for Fairfax County. Need more of them and fewer crap chain restaurants, and dime a dozen Pho and Halal holes.

Your the one who's being an idiot. Anyone who's had a few microbrews and knows the difference between a pale ale, ipa, and lager can easily tell a difference.

Nano breweries are a great place to have a couple beers with friends. Beers that aren't mass marketed and mass produced, and shipped, and left in a warehouse or on a truck. Beers that were brewed a mere 20 feet away, and maybe 2 weeks ago, from where you can drink them.

Why so doubtful?

What's worse is they show up looking like they just worked out and have their kids with them. Kids running around, screaming, crying, and ruining everyone else's fun. Almost any bar you go to now has some douchey couple there with their kids at the bar.

Hi Kev!

You're the typical wannabe beer expert, always bragging to your idiot friends about how smart you think you are. I promise that no one gives a shit about all the different beers you've had. It's relevant to absolutely nobody.

> Why so doubtful?

Doubt has nothing to do with it. You're just a douchebag, plain and simple. :-)

Is a Safeway gonna return there, by any chance?

Haters going to hate I guess. If you're so indifferent, internet-tough-guy, why do you even waste your precious time reading, much less responding to this thread?

Have you tried different beers? No like? Happy with PBR?

To each their own!
