No tradition. And this is what you get. 40 years, no Cups and more heartbreaking losses than any other NHL from '74 to the present.
Ovie is going to go down as the greatest player to never win a Stanley Cup. With apologies to Marcel Dionne...
Teams like DET come to play every night. Win or lose, you always see the best game they are capable of playing. If you beat the Red Wings, you've earned it. Why? Because tradition...they gots it!
A team needs a coach and players who have won Cups to show them how to win a Cup. Trotz is a fundamentally sound NHL level coach. At the same time...there's a reason he spent 15 years in Nashville, never won a Cup and was never hired to coach an elite team.

I don't know, I started out the playoffs feeling pessimistic but the Caps are playing well so far. I think they have a chance to win this series but Holtby ha to be on his game, and so far he has.
