just curious ho wmany people have gotten a reckless, and what the fine/penalty was? i just got a reckless for 78 in a 55 on the beltway by a FFX county cop, and am just wondering how badly they're going to assrape me.

it's 2 days in jail for every mile went over the speed limit. call my attorney, he could prolly reduced it to 1 day instead.

I received a reckless on I-81N on my way back from Virginia Tech for 88 in a 65. I was already on probation by the DMV because i had 12 points on my license so this offense put me to 18. I got a lawyer for about $400 to represent me and he worked out a deal to give me a $300 fine with no jail time, community service, or court suspension of my drivers license. I did however get the license suspended by the DMV for 3 months which was hell. Basically what it comes down to is how clean your driving record is. The less points on your license then the less the penalty will probably be. I think i got off pretty easy when you take into account my circumstances and im not sure how harshly FFX will prosecute you. Goodluck though!

i got a reckless in prince william and when i went to court to fight it they said they would drop it to improper driving. it was only a 50 dollar fine and less points so i took it.

Go to court and see about getting it reduced. Of course, this isn't likely to work if you've got a history of tickets.

Reckless tickets are a dime a dozen.

No recent experience (last reckless was 4 to 5 years ago), but mine resulted in $100 fine (not including court costs) + 30-day suspension, and of course, 6 points. My driving record at the time had 1, maybe 2 prior tickets still on the books.

Unless you're a habitual offender or something, don't worry about jail time, community service, etc.

Judges are very lenient on reckless...

Relax - they usually write it down to minor offense.

You'll be fine until the third or fourth write-up.

I got a reckless last year-the I had a running a red light violation a few months prior, but nothing other than that. I was going 75+ in a 50 and changing lanes too quickly-pretty much driving like an asshole. I got 60 day suspended and the fine was like $275ish. I didn't get a lawyer though.

For the person who got the reckless ticket in Prince William, was it in an accident. If so, that is why it got knocked down to improper driving, you don't those kind of breaks for reckless driving by speed etc...

Judges look the other way on reckless - specially FFX county.
