Annandale man stole fuel in Iraq!

ALEXANDRIA, Va. — A Fairfax County man has been charged in a scheme that involved the theft of $40 million worth of fuel from a military base in Iraq.

Prosecutors accuse Michel Jamil of Annandale of using fraudulent ID cards to get access to the fuel at Camp Liberty in Baghdad in 2007 and 2008.

They say Jamil drove truckloads of fuel off the base and turned the trucks over to Iraqi drivers, who sold the fuel on the black market. According to charging documents, Jamil estimates he made 15 trips and was paid about $50,000.

If convicted, Jamil faces up to five years in prison.

According to court records, other suspects are scattered around the world. Lee W. Dubois of Lexington, S.C., a former Army contractor convicted in the scheme, is helping authorities track them down.

Damn, with that much fuel you'd think he'd get a bigger cut.

The fuel was only worth $40 million to the government, probably at like $1k a gallon or something crazy like that. So he stole 40k gallons of gas (15 trips at about 2500 gallons per trip), and sold it on the black market for $2-$3 a gallon, I'd say his cut was pretty good. Still, not exactly a lucrative business venture considering the risk equation.

No, he got caught stealing, and should pay the price the law decides is appropriate.
Teach your relative, that stealing is not a family value.

I'll tell you why Michel Jamil got dicked over you fuckin retards! because he was part of a major scheme yet his role was so minor, and BECAUSE HE DECIDED TO TURN HIMSELF IN not like the others who are scared to face their fate HE WAS held responsible for most of their dirty work. SO FOR ALL OF YOU IGNORANTS who soleley believe the media, think again. This is a family man who found an easy kick off to support a family of four, hardly gained any money and ended up paying fo the price of the major scheme heads

Yes, we really should be going after the "major scheme heads" instead. Whatever and whomever they are...

why not just let the authorities and the courts handle the situation instead of constantly crucifying people on this site.
