Huge drop in posting and thread views recently

There has been a very high drop in posting for about two weeks now.
There are posts from the 27th on the front page here in the main forum.
There was a time where you could post a thread over at night and it would be on page two in the morning if it got no replies.
Over in Off Topic there are posts from the 28th and we all know how fast things can move around there sometimes.
So what is going on? Was one person responsible for over 200 posts in a day sometimes?
Or does no one just come here anymore?

I've noticed the drop off too. Lot's of people have left for various reasons even recently. Gerrymanderer2=gone, Wingnut=gone, Alias=gone, Caan=gone and even Eesh hasn't made an appearance lately though that may be due to vacation or what ever. He seems to be a regular and for a long time. Face it there are a lot of waccos out there and some of them get pretty aggressive with all the outing and threats. Some of the regulars are older guys and gals with good jobs that could be put in jeopardy with some of the statements made behind the veil of anonymity that gives a false sense of security that comes with being in your home or office while surfing the internet. Take away the 5 listed above and if each posted 5 times either by starting new threads or responding in existing threads and that's a bunch of posts removed right there. Throw in the racism and the never ending political tripe and really who has the time to waste reading or responding to the same shit over and over.
I haven't been here long and I joined because there used to be witty satirical highly educated people posting on a variety of topics and in the short time I've been around I've noticed that all there is left are the Obama haters, bigots, gun nuts and homophobes posting the same stupid shit over and over and it doesn't seem to be getting any better.
Sad but true...

Caan was a major poster under multiple names like eesh. Caan and his family were seriously butthurt and exposed on the prince William co thread. Right before he disappeared. I think the moreno thing took some of eesh's heart out of this too. Not saying he's scared, just not as into it

I didn't like eesh's more 'out there' posts, but at least he had the decency to warn us in advance of what we were in for. Now this forum is dominated by stupid high schol kids, assorted low life's, the mentally ill, and people who don't even live here.
I keep hoping that people with an IQ over 80 who aren't consumed by hatred will show up - but, with the rare exception of people like Abelard, they don't anymore. This forum had a lot of potential, but this is what happens when the moderator does not have the time or the interest to enforce even his own extremely lax rules.

I don't see anything wrong with it. Just click on the topics you're interested in and ignore the rest, that's what I do. No one is forcing you to visit certain threads. The simple solution is to just not come here if you're so offended by what you see but no one has the power to do that apparently and thinks complaining and blaming Cary will make it better.

I think the volume of ugly racist comments and names are an indication to most of us its time to move on. Seeing the N-word in every other post is not only boring it advertises the end of a conversation. Why read or post on a thread when there is no opportunity for debate or exchange of information? Poster probably thinks its somehow funny or shocking but its entirely ordinary and uninteresting.
